Why Should I Keep Playing

I'm not bashing MapleStory in any way, I'm just curious: Why should I keep leveling up my character. All I'm doing is grinding to get more skills to grind more to get more skills, etc...
I don't see the point...

The point of games is to have fun and to pass the time. Simple as that.

You shouldn't play, quit now and I mean it literally.

If you need to find a reason from US why you should play Maple, you're better off quitting.
It's a lot more fun if you have funding.
funding isn't everything; i was never funded and everything i have i got from in game. money isn't the only thing you need to have fun. i sometimes ask myself that question, "why am i still playing this game?" the answer, honestly it eludes me, lol. everyone has their own reason for wanting to play, just find yours. if you don't have one, then you either don't like the game as much as you thought, or just haven't found your thing. the game is quite repetitive, but that could be something you like about it.

Just grinding is BORING. Join a guild, go henehoe. If your online just grinding try and find something more productive to do before you log on maple.
I dunno. It helps if you set a goal. If you just mindlessly grind, then you're not gonna be satisfied with playing Maple. But if you have a friend, whether IRL or a guildie or something, you can have a competition for whoever gets to a certain level first, you'll be more motivated to train. If you don't want to train a current character, try making a new character, maybe even in a new world, and try it out until 50-80. A lot of people quit characters because they didn't like their 1st job and didn't know how awesome their later jobs would be.
But what are you training for?
maple is progressive while most other popular games are not. take a piece of crap game like LoL for example (i mean, i play it sometimes)...after you win/lose a game, then what? don't even say ranking...its too hard to rank up and too easy to get into elo hell when teamed with a bunch of fat noobs. pass 1500, then find a fat losing streak and you'll be in the 1300's forever...

then again, maple isn't much better because once you quit, it's over anyway. but at least there are a lot of things to do instead of just leveling. like i merch or boss probably 80% of the time i spend on the game, which isn't that much.
I stopped reading after you said, "Piece of crap game like LoL"

Well, I tried looking for a guild, but no one wanted to add me. Then I thought I could make some friends by doing Party Quests, but apparently no one does them anymore...

@zvsilver In about the 4th grade my friend convinced me to play. Then the next two summers there was nothing else to do.

No. I played World of Warcraft, you never grinded. You got to do fun quests that had variety. PvP and raids all had strategy involved, not just spam buttons...

@Itachithe7th You don't grind in WoW... I also don't get how spamming buttons is fun.

Well, I've played other MMO's, and they're not all about grinding... I don't know what goals I'm supposed to make though. What will my reward be for all this grinding? I'm just wondering, I'm not bashing MapleStory, I just want to know why everyone wants to level up...

i dont think that the major part of most other mmo's is the social aspcect, without the social aspect maple greatly strives of, there really is not much to do, out of all the mmo's ive played, maple is the dullest in terms of activities to do that are actually entertaining.
