Seriously, there's way too many Minecraft LPers. Although i do like the game.

Not trying to persuade you to give Minecraft another go, but if you find that it's 'repetitive and boring', then there's not enough creativity in the air. Certainly, some aspects of Minecraft can get bothersome, but there is almost always a modification that can help ease the irritation.

I don't play minecraft as much anymore, but I still watch videos from some channels that aren't 'Let's Play!' styled. I particularly enjoy the Yogscast because they don't have 'Let's Play!' styled videos.

Either way, it's not my business to butt into your preferences, but try to stay a little open-minded when trying new things.

Did you know that most game channels have different series for each game? For instance you can subscribe to the Black Ops series and not get Minecraft related suggestions. I think you just came here to flame Minecraft, nothing else.

Also, WoW is dead repetitive. Seriously, I can't think of any PC game that's not repetitive...

Team Fortress 2: Kill people over and over again.
Portal 2: Use portals to solve puzzles over and over again.
Terraria: Never heard of it.
WoW: Upgrade gear to kill monsters to get more gear to kill better monsters.
Half Life: Kill things over and over again.

Now, don't get me wrong, I love Portal, I'm thinking of playing TF2, I respect HL, but I've never played it. The only one I don't like is WoW because I like MS more, but do you see my point? All games are repetitive in nature. At least in Minecraft, you may just place blocks down, but you do it whichever way you want. Its about creativity, the ability to make something. That's why I love it so much.

Mods will always be mods. Minecraft itself is the basis for creativity and the whole point of the game.

I think the TS is in denial about repetition.
Besides what channels are you talking about? With all the channels I'm subscribed to I never see minecraft videos anymore.

Minecraft is the only game where you never feel "finished." That's what most people play for (myself included). If you look past the immense amount of mining and learn to do the crafting, it'll be much more fun.

Of course, you could also just ditch the game for FPS.

Exactly, you're just not being creative if you think it's boring. It, in theory, cannot be boring itself, because it does not drive from itself, it drives from the player. It's like complaining a car won't go when you're not even stepping on the pedal.

To be honest, I don't see the hype on Minecraft myself. It's a fun game with a lot of potential with mods but it's definitely not the best game ever, as everybody seems to make it out as.

They're doing it because they believe they can jump on the "MineCraft Lets Play" wagon and get big. [Which makes sense considering how many times a MineCraft video has gotten in the top 100 most viewed daily.] I can only imagine this happening for smaller channels and the only reason they might continue is because they have gotten positive feedback on it. So logically they would continue. If you don't like it then don't watch it or don't subscribe. Don't ruin it for those who do want to watch their videos.

For some reason, all my mate does on his laptop now is go on FaceBook and play Minecraft.

Seriously, what the hell is so good about it?

Portal 2 is soo repetitive. its like "bam, portal" "another bam, portal" -walks through portal

my friend has a youtube channel that *used* to be dedicated to his videos of him raving and stuff
but now it's full of "let's play minecraft"

You avoid the gameplay and get the commentary, if you enjoy the peoples videos should you enjoy the commentary, or the game? Commentary, as the game is a backdrop. Unless they're talking abut the gameplay, then you should just wait till they post videos you want to see. Problem = solved.

TF2: Pick a class, run around in a set number of game types... leads to repetition
Portal 2: Puzzles,
Terraria: Almost like platform mine craft, nearly no difference.
WoW: Different raids, doing quests over and over.
Half Life: Fair enough, that you get.

2. I subscribe
3. They start making Minecraft videos
4. Disappointed, because I enjoyed watching their old videos
5. Unsubscribes
6. Goes to a new gaming channel
7. Repeat

It's opinions. But I'm not complaining about the game itself. I'm complaining about how every channel I liked only makes MineCraft videos, so I can barely find videos I actually enjoy without them crapping it up with Minecraft, and now it's all my friends play so I can't play any multiplayer games.
