why do people hate fairy tail so much
and why do people like it so much? i personally dont hate it but im not crazy about it but thats probably because im not a huge anime fan. the episodes ive watched were alright and pretty funny and its basically fan service (right fellas?) and the characters are cool especially erza so i dont get why people hate it so much lol

it's basically revolved around fan service but i also see it as the extremely watered down version of one piece
I don't hate it but it's not OMGAMAZING or anything either.

Basically this.
The flaws that I found was that many of the battles were done with the "Willpower" based fighting (Remind me to make a thread explaining the different types of Anime fights). So the good guys would win battles even though the situation hasn't changed, just because their friends need them (or some variation). For example, how Natsu beat the steel dragon in Edolas after he couldn't even scratch before.
Some people hate the fan-service but that never bothered me much.
Also, the way Gajeel joined Fairy Tail annoyed me. There was no signs and the writer just threw him in there, and keep in mind that there was an arc unrelated to Gajeel before this.
It also has a lot of recycled material from Rave Master. I know that they were written by the same guy, but come on, Death Note and Bakuman are still pretty different (some characters just look the same).
I personally don't find the Anime too bad. I like it.
It's really meh.. nothing special.
nowhere near as bad as SAO, then again, the fanbase is so divided there's a fat canyon in between em; never to bring em together
same reason why people hate SAO, naruto, bleach, in some/most peoples eyes, they suck due to plot holes/character development, etc, but some people actually enjoy watching them. Basically it comes down to why you're watching it, if you're expecting the best story of life, then it probably won't be for you. However if you're looking for other things then you might enjoy it.

Well everything has its haters and likewise, there will be obsessed fanboys. The hate around Fairy Tail centers around the Nakama-power thing and the tons of fan service. People are obsessed with it cause... they like the concept. It's okay for me, kinda lost it's taste during Extalia.
