You don't act the same with random strangers as you do with your friends. This isn't really all that surprising. Different people have different attitudes for dealing with different social circles, some are friendly to everyone, others are hostile to strangers bothering them.

It's not as though it matters, you're not actually a stranger after all. You should be more concerned with how they treat their friends.

People with "cute" looks don't always have the brightest personality

There are a lot of friendly encounters I have once in a while, that ends up with me adding them as a buddy or them adding me.

It is sad though cuz it always comes to the same conclusion; we don't really talk much afterwards. I'm naturally the kind of person who looks up answers to the game on basil/google/other forums and I don't really care for much "mundane" chat either or what I would consider such.

Very few people are interesting enough for me to genuinely want to talk to them and if I feel I am forcing myself to be social I usually back away.

Tbh, I don't friend random noobs anymore. Because really, I don't know them, they tend to beg for level 40 equipment, and I just don't know them well enough.

Plus, most newbies meet are so concerned with setting a place for themselves with money and equips (like how I kinda an sometimes) that they don't bother talking to you unless it's for a tangible benefit.

Not saying I'm not guilty, but I at least try to talk with my guildies about other things.

well two of them turned out to be scammers
