Fastest: Learn and unlearn smithing while drinking fatigue reset potions constantly. Made more difficult by the fact you can only buy these from people who stockpiled them before they were removed.
Most Efficient: Achieve level 11 alchemy/smithy/crafting. Decay back to level 10 at the 24 hour mark. Craft one potion and regain level 11, and the diligence bonus for leveling up again.
I just use those +30 trait from the bags, I usually farm a few stack of them and open them all at once, pretty nice exp
Leveling up the professions provides limit-free diligence. It's just a lot slower now without fatigue, but it's still the fastest, I believe. Not sure if it's best to just call it a day at the daily 500 and then stop, or keep leveling up the professions even when you've maxed out just because the extra you get at level 9-10 is quite good (I heard you don't get anything for master or meister).
Well I just crafted arrows for smiths and 25 rings for Acessory
Unless you're willing to unlearn alchemy (I don't think alchemy is effiecent or cost effective for diligence leveling)
