Minimum actual requirements

I was wondering what maple actually needs in order to run as far as os and ram go.

With the new update to Microsoft's ToS, many of you have probably noticed how much more invasive they are allowed to be.

Maplestory is really the only thing that I use that keeps me tied to windows and I would like to change that by running it in a vm.

Before I do this, I need to know what the minimum os requirements are. I have the option to use Windows 8, but would much prefer to use XP is possible in this particular instance.

Before people start talking about XP exploits and the like, this is going to be a Maple Only VM. The only extras it will have are Chrome to download Steam to download Maple.

I was able to run the latest version of Maple on an Atom n270 netbook with 1gb of RAM running Windows XP but it was not useful for anything besides opening an FM shop and being a buffer/kishin.

@Voxous: I quit using Steam when it kept corrupting the game files or made something konk out so I couldn't stay logged in very long. But that was a year or two ago, so things might have changed.
Eventually wound up using the other methods I mentioned instead.
Tbh I wouldn't download from Steam, as I've had issues with that particular version in the past.
I just use steam to get the client files. I launch through the internal game launcher after that. Steam is just a faster install than the normal way.

Tbh I wouldn't download from Steam, as I've had issues with that particular version in the past Download the Nexon Beta Launcher instead (found here ), or straight off of the website. Also, virtualizing can be somewhat iffy; just make sure you have your license key and a copy of the same (exact ) OS version handy.

I thought the new ToS was for the beta testing....which makes sense. Do you not use a smart phone either?

VMware+winXP+maple=no bueno

I would recommend windows 7 on a VM that has at least 512 mb memory,1 core on 1 processor with 20~25 gb of space (SSD recommended)

This is your bare minimum for a RA/kishin/HS mule.

Minimum requirements are on the website. Other than that it says Vista but you can still use XP just fine, they just updated it to Vista because Microsoft no longer provides support for XP.
