I prefer DA over DS, as I played both. I left DS as a link mule, while maining a DA. People say DA's only spam 1 skill, but I use a variety of skills, e.g. Execution, nether shield, nether shield and sometimes bats, so it's never boring. Then again most classes use a limited number of attacking skills, people just need to learn how to play.
You could try playing both jobs until a certain point, then decide from there on. I mained both and I prefer my DA over my DS. I don't understand why people are saying that DA spams. When I do bosses or even training for that matter, I have to mix in plenty of skills. My DS is pretty much Demon Cry with blue blood and Demon Impact with blue blood.
1. Believe it or not, there are other DA out there that are hungry for %Hp equips they don't have to cube themselves, so yes there is plenty of resale value. 2. Formula changed, it hardly works like that anymore. Your Hp is almost always at maximum most of the time and the damage doesn't drop off until 50% Hp.
I'm sorry, I don't believe it. I think I can count the number of serious DAs in Bera on the fingers of one hand. Actually, to be honest, I don't even think they exist, I certainly haven't seen any strong ones for a long time. And while it's possible that DAs aren't terrible, they certainly aren't popular enough to give % HP equips any resale value.
Also, though they have a different formula, the point isn't just that they have varying damage, but debuffs from bosses which cancel HB give you a huge decrease in damage. It lacks consistency, and even when constant, it's damage is still lacking when compared to that of a DS
Name a few, please. I'd really like to know how many of them can really slow down a high status-resistant job.

Which has been false ever more since v150.
OT: They're both great and solid classes where Demon Avengers work better with single targets and Demon Slayers work better with two or more targets.
@LiliKoby: What bosses debuff you anymore? Nothing that even requires HB. And their damage is much more consistant than DS since DS is only at full power for like half of their time because of Blue Blood. A good DA will have their Hp at 95-100% the ENTIRE time with the exception of an occasional %Hp hit which can be easily healed back to max with their whole aresenal of skills. Really the only thing DS has that gives them any advantage over bossing afaik is DR ignore. Hits per second wise, I think Avenger wins as DA hits very fast with lots of AFA + Shields CONSISTENTLY while DS only has Blue Blood on half of the time.
@Kazzooey: Yes, but while your old DA equips can only cater to other DA, DS equips cater to all warrior types, with the exception of their weapon, which caters only to pally's, thus their resale value is much much less in constant to market demand. Also, though they have a different formula, the point isn't just that they have varying damage, but debuffs from bosses which cancel HB give you a huge decrease in damage. It lacks consistency, and even when constant, it's damage is still lacking when compared to that of a DS
Demon Slayer Reason: Do you really want to play a class where your damage is based off your hp and your equipment has little to no resale/reuse value and your damage decreases if you get hurt?
Avenger is my favorite though it's very close. DA has better overall 1v1 damage and survivability but Slayer has some of the best map control and mobbing in the game.

@LiliKoby: have you even played a DA? On my chars, just one crit line on Executioner pretty much outdamages Demon Impact with Blue Blood on.

Gameplay wise DS
Spamming wise DA....
slayer so you can slay that poosi

Demon Avenger.
Reason: because the white hair ripped from Alucard
Demon slayer.
Reason: Based on your polls I assigned Avenger to heads and Slayer to tails and flipped a coin. It came up tails.
