New Arrow Rain/Eruption
So, with talks about Chaos Update in the air, everyone knows a few skills are getting changes here and there. With Bowmen in particular, the new Arrow Rain/Eruption have new animations, a power boost, as well as a (ridiculous IMO) delay per shot.
What're your opinions on it? Frankly, I'm starting to think I may end up resetting Arrow Rain and taking 9 points out to max out Strafe for its 180%.

Why is Arrow Rain blue when their skills are geared toward the fire element (Phoenix, Inferno), and vice versa for Marksmen?

Rangers & BMs do get buffs now strufe hit 180% at master lv and hurricane does 220% at master lv pretty much half there skills get a 20% - 100% bosst the only one I know that gets a 100% bosst is dragon breath and arrow rain now does 350% or 400% DMG now.
Hope they add a speed increase?
Seems like the range got bit shorter? And there is definitely more delay. Animations are ok.. AR nerf is going to make me hate my ranger even more now.
I never use AE anymore so..

You do realize that the only reason to get Arrow Rain/Eruption is because it hits 10 at max level? It's weaker, takes 10 more SP, and doesn't freeze or do DoT, but it hits 4 more. That's a big difference in training. Wind Piercing is trash because it hits only 3 currently. It will be as good as Soul Driver when it hits 6 after Chaos. Plus with Arrow Rain/Eruption, you can hit behind, above, and below you without having to move. 500% in 1.3 sec is only 25% weaker (500%-25%=475%) that the current 400% in 1 second.
I like it. The swing accomodates it, too. I'm probably just gunna be the few who like it.

So all the bowmans skills have been reworked right? Where can i find what the old attack %'s were so I can compare them with the new skills? I havent played for 3 years so I am trying to put everything into perspective.
i thought bowmen were supposed to be a SPEEDY class, not a class with a long delay between skill uses..this woulda completely unmotivated me but i never use it anymore sooo..

MM already hit higher than BM with even percentages. Giving an extra 100% will just break the balance we have.
The animation itself looks okay,but the bow whacking part? Nah that just sucks.
And it seems to me that Nexon used the same animation for AR and AE, except one is red and up-side down.

It's a totally separate skill with a max level of 5.
And those are the stats for the CHAOS UPDATE, which by the way are still wrong. The only change to UA/adventurer wind piercing is changing of targets hit from 3 to 6. The update that WE, GMS, ARE GETTING lists wind piercing as 600% damage to 3 targets at max level, which is useless.
In no way did i ever suggest that UAs receive the 5th level out of 30 for their respective skill. Please buy some reading comprehension. >_>

You end up maxing both, but I did Inferno before AR. I use them both interchangeably, so there's no argument (to me anyways) as to which is better; one's stronger, but the other has more versatility.

So whats your take on this? Even though you probably don't use AE anymore, I don't think I've seen any of your opinions though you've been posting around.

For me what would actually be an improvement is if they made a new character animation in wich you extend your arm up and point with your bow directly to the sky (and the other way for xbows) [and ideally make the char look up or down too if it could be made decent, and not look awkward]
Have the animation bow show centered, exactly on your own equipped bow. Give it more range in both directions, increase damage and keep the current speed of 1.33 shots per second.
If you get my idea I think you can agree it would actually be cool.
To whack the bow in order to "shoot" arrows its absolute NONSENSE... I can't believe this stupid concept got into the game, It's... can't even find words to describe it....

The speed used to be 1.33 shots per second, now its 1 shot per second.
I'm trying to see if I can find a video of someone just spamming AR/AE for comparison. There's a large difference for those of us who use the skill often; the fact that they made it this way ruins its practicality IMO. A 100% boost in its base power does not make up for its horrific delay. I'll probably end up using it as a lure move or something now x__X

They should make it 2 hits, 350% per hit (700% total), and increase vertical and horizontal range.

Yew, the old one was so much faster and nicer... I wanted to make a Ranger for that skill...
What's the actual delay on current AR/AE? The new animation looks pretty slow, but not outlandishly so, especially if you're holding down the button.
I do agree though that the whacking is just silly and something with this kind of delay needs more than 500%.

I don't know what you're talking about but wind piercing at level 5 is 600% to 3 targets with 1200 ms base cast time. Empress skills do not have the same stats as maxed cygnus equivalents. Inferno is far faster. Only time wind piercing is stronger is when you're maxing your skills. Once they are maxed wind piercing has no place on your keyboard.
They should just let us keep our old animation and give us a new 4th job ultimate skill with this animation. Just increase the range of it, make it 15 monsters, and change its damage to like 425% and make it hit 4 times (1700% total) That would be awesome.
Wind pierce doesn't even out damage blizzard much less inferno.

You get freeze...Rangers got the BURN effect to equate with the FREEZE effect. I wouldn't call it "something", it was a useful skill even before BB and even post BB.

I'm going to buck the trend and say I like the new animations (although why an xbowman uses a bow for AE i'll never know...), but the delay is insane. Good thing I never use AR anymore Now I can just show off the animation.

I'm still thinking whether or not to do as I mentioned above, hence I said "I think I may end up."

(no hate towards the TS, i just don't understand why people want to max Strafe)

How does it make sense? The arrows are somehow shot from an animation that doesn't match up with the character. The character whacks the bow...
The whole thing drives me nuts. I really enjoy the skill right now and with this change... I'm just disappointed.
I know it makes more sense with the animation but it doesn't really have the same feel to me.
The animation itself feels a little lacking.
