Maplestory Regular Server ranking vs reboot ranking

Do you guys think its fair to mix both ranking
When reboot has a higher xp rate than regular servers?
Currently ranked #20 blaster but would be #4 without reboot ._.

@wall: Okie thank you. ^^

I was thinking more along the lines of the length of time it would take most players on either server to get to 250 among those that will go for it. You've done it before, so you have the experience of how to get there best and how to prepare for it if you do it again. But for most doing it their first time, they may need time to prep, breaks, etc. And when you add that up, I would consider it a long time. lol

Isn't it actually easier to get to 250 in regular servers? I mean, they have the adventage of getting more exp multipliers than in reboot such as 2x coupon from cash shop, zero card, pendant of spirit, exp coupons/boxes from fm, and other stuff I can't remember right now.

I think they should be separated. You can argue that people can't start out with op gear in Reboot but overall it's a lot easier (read: cheaper) to obtain high end gear in Reboot than it is in normal servers. In Reboot you can get to 250 in like 2 months of serious training, which just isn't possible in the normal servers unless you're grinding like 16 hours a day on 9x.

@zcrimsyn: I agree. Tbh, only purpose I see for rankings is for seeing who's offranked for being caught for botting and whatnot, but even so it's only those GMs do catch and there could be a whole separate thing for that sort of thing anyways.

@terrorface: No all rankings are stupid in my opinion. If it were up to me ill take out the ranking system in this game since it's meaningless. Either way though I see no point in a reboot ranking system be in the mix or separated with normal rankings as it makes no difference really.

Main point is it doesn't really matter.

@wall: Versus how long with the same focus on non-Reboot?

@zcrimsyn: Not really. A lot of legits do exist on Reboot. IIRC, you even complained that nothing on non-Reboot is legit anyways because of the mesos and items in the economy due to non-legits. So would non-Reboot not matter either? lol

People still care about rankings for literally spending hundreds of hours grinding to fill their own ego? Its not like Cloud 9, Team Liquid, EG, and etc are gonna come knocking on your door and slap you with a multi-thousand dollar contracts and sponsorships.

Reboot is pure botting server anyway. Why does it matter?

@misterpang: Not to me. If someone gets to 250, I don't care which server they're on, they had to put in time to get there. Non-Reboot may take longer, but a lot of time is a lot of time. lol

I concur with everyone else; they should keep it separate. However, if rankings are a thing that concerns you, I would be more concerned about the hackers and botters that could potentially be occupying some, if not all of those top spots.

@terrorface: Yeah I agree, but I'd think getting to a high level in regular servers is more noteworthy than in Reboot.

@misterpang: I don't think getting to a high level on any server is much of an accomplishment. It's just Maplestory. lol

Rankings should be split, the exp rules are different. Mixing in the rankings is unfair and it goes both ways.

Existing jobs it's unfair for Reboot players because certain ranks are already locked out when the world is created.

Future new jobs (as witnessed by Blaster) is unfair to non-Reboot players due to exp difference. Although you do need higher damage in Reboot to get this extra exp, this is certainly not a problem for all future new jobs that come out because people can just save their mesos beforehand and cube their gear the day the new job is out on their new character.

Oh, and if Nexon ever increases the max level, clearly one world will be occupying the top 20, how can that possibly be fair?

Oh stop your crying... Don't forget monsters are stronger in reboot and characters can't start with OP gear like regular servers.

I don't get why Reboot has a higher exp rate to begin with.

I didn't realize people still cared so much about rankings

Getting to a high level in Reboot is not much of an accomplishment imo. I'd think getting to 250 in a regular server is more noteworthy than Reboot.

Why are blasters even their own rank category and not listed under Resistance. It's the same character creation section, same starting tutorial.
But yeah I agree, Reboot shouldn't share job/overall ranks with the regular servers.
