The So Called Shielding Ward
As a lot of you may know already, the limited time Shielding Ward came out on July 11, 2011. http://maplestory.nexon.net/News/Events.aspx?boardNo=201&contentNo=00CSQ&pageIndex=1
Sadly, Nexon did not mention anything in regards to how they work beside that they disappear even if the scroll works. No one told me that you had to apply the ward to the equipment you are scrolling BEFORE you use the scroll on it. With that said, Nexon did NOT put an option as to whether to use the ward or not when using a scroll. I'm rather mad at myself for this, but I feel cheated by Nexon. I have just wasted 32k NX + 220m on an Advance Enhancement Scroll that added ZERO attack. In addition, I have lost my precious VIP bow.

Knowing Nexon, it is very unlikely that they take any action to bring my bow back. This will be the first part of my good bye then. If you or you know someone that shared the same experience as me, feel free to discuss it.

Hmm yea..probably...I wasted 2 shielding wards just to see 2 70% enhancements fail >.<
If you guys read the other comments, I'm not raging because I boomed my VIP Bow, I'm angry @ Nexon for failing to provide details as to how to use it.

Bad luck maybe? I had no problem finishing my PSB only took me 9 scrolls and I used only EEs.
I reckon Shield warding scrolls are rigged. They prob make Enhance scrolls more likely to fail. I mean I'm trying to Advance EE my Dagger. (It's enhanced one)

Actually, it's his fault for not knowing it works like a scroll. Common sense.
It's the the equips that make the game, it's the friends. This is expected from Nexon. This is why when something is new, I wait till other people try it so then it won't affect me (or affect me as much).
Times like this, don't you wish there was a hacker around to crash the channel for you. I, myself, can't even afford half a VIP bow. Sorry for your loss.

I hope so I filed a ticket a couple of days ago, but I doubt I will receive a response any time soon.

As for those people criticizing my lack of research, I admit it's my fault, but have you guys ever bothered to consider the other side of the story? Let's pretend I'm the most ignorant player in MapleStory, but what about others who had lost their equipments? Are they just ignorant as me or is there something wrong with Nexon's ambiguous instruction in regards to how Shielding Wards work?

But it's just a bow. I dont see how losing a weapon would cause you to quit.
Dude honestly, it's a big blow yeah but it's no reason to quit. I blow up things all the time, fully knowing the consequences though, and it doesn't phase me. It's a game and it's not hard at all to make mesos. Pinks and WS are cheap in Windia anyways so your new bow may not have even costed much and it's a big improvement.

I love how most of you guys attack him and saying "common sense" crap. That's like saying a dollars can give you 4 quarters...how do you know if it is "common sense" if you don't know how it works first? Teens these days with their common sense and craps. I bet you don't know how to use it or anything about the patch if no one informed you like Spadow did. Cut the craps with the common sense...how would you like it if your teachers teach you math and you don't understand anything and all they do is tell you to use your "common sense" to solve math problems? Think before you talk with the common sense or bash on people.

I don't see how it's "common" sense entirely. I know it's no one else's fault but mine. However, wouldn't it be common sense for Nexon to place the Shielding Ward into our USE inventory? Nexon chose to place it under the category "cash items", thus it led me to believe that it would work like Pam Song or WS.

It's not fair to the maple community that Nexon didn't specify how to use the shielding ward.
The item tells you this is you bothered to read it.

he gave everything to nexon and a month later they gave him everything -he had screenshots of- back

This is your fault for the most part. Having it in your inventory does not do anything. Dragging it to a specific item, would.
If you just keep it in your inventory, any RANDOM scroll on ANY equipment would use up that Ward.

You know...I did worse things....I poof'ed a 140 atk engaw, yes a perfect engaw, unhammered, unleveled, with a 90%. This happened within a couple of weeks of the release of potential and before Big Bang.
@mordi: If you have read the other comments, I had put away the shielding wards before I used the AEE. Hence why none of them disappeared.
this is common sense.. Maybe you should have noticed it when a shielding ward didn't disappear when using the first AEE?
I still dont get how an enhancement on a weapon didn't add any atk on his bow, is that some kinda glitch?

dw yushi you'll come back even stronger when VPQ comes back you can get another VIP Bow till now just get a VL Bow and make it godly <3

This is the dilemma that I found myself caught in. I have been the leader of Globalize for over 2 years, but the actual history of the guild goes back to 2007. I'm not sure if I can just leave them all like this, they are like part of your family except not literally.
For all those people who blames me for this, I'm not denying it, but all I'm saying is that Nexon should clarify "HOW" to use the shielding ward. I'm not asking for sympathy or anything, I'm just stating how Nexon deceived us. I'm not the only victim out there, and I believe there will be more victims of this so called "fraud" or white lie. The point of this thread is to help protect other people's precious equipments from shielding wards.

it would really be extremely simple for a gm to create another vip bow and 100% bow atk gm scrolls, or 2h 50%'s and WS
and create a gm store where they can buy cubes for 1meso
or they could simply construct another bow from scratch in code

potential and enhancement scrolls add stats so people think it works like a regular scroll to drag, white scrolls protect slots and wards protect destruction, by common sense you'd think they act the same as well.

Quit now and that's all you lose. Stay and you will be compelled to make a replacement, which in time or money will cost you in the hundreds. However, staying does allow you to still play with friends.
