@Caelestys: Depends on the pony :-p. I'm more interested in modding them now, than collecting them (though I am keeping some of my favorites)
@Caelestys: I love anything horse related and grew up on MLP. It's nice to see a new generation of fans. I also collected Briar horses and Grand Champions as a kid but my Briars and GC's are still in their boxes so no way I'm touching those!
Thats the fourth generation of My Little Pony which was a cartoon aimed at the 7-12 age range during the 1980's. It's made 3 additional comebacks as well as spawning a MASSIVE collection of toys, each generation looking a bit different. This generation is different than past generations in art style and appeals to a wider range audience. Other people in the fandom come from Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Germany, Sweden, Canada and other parts of Europe. The previous generations were also pretty popular in China.
Basically, it's a revival of a major fad that a lot of the older Basilers grew up on. I have 56 ponies at the moment, some from China but more "rare" ones from Argentina, Italy and Greece. Some are worth a LOT of money and are pretty sought after.
I'm currently working on 3 Basil custom ponies and in a few months, I hope to open up to commissions. Customizing MLP's are becoming a popular past time with college students and stay-at-home moms.
what i havent really heard of any pony threads
i just hear some things here and there about unicorns, horses,pegasus
