It's rather shortsighted to assume the application of this viewpoint in the context of every line of work.

Ultimately, it depends on the career an individual happens to be in.

Are you implying musicians and artists should never consider using emotion in their work? That's an incredibly stupid proposal.

I feel like you can be professional and also let emotions dictate the outcome of your work. I love when singers get emotional during songs. I was listening to this song last night http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRqYVFr7sL4 and you can feel the emotion, especially at the ending around 4:35.
