I don't understand what you mean by add skill but my friend plays a ps4 controller on a pc just fine. The PS4 controller was also designed to work well with the PC from what I've heard (Touch pad as mouse, etc)

Just get a XBO controller. You can use a microusb cable, it has official drivers, and it will play every game that worked w/ the 360 controller.

what @mitarumetaro said, i already have the controller already so i dont want to spend another 30 or more dollars for xbox one, if i was going to do that i would rather buy a razer game pad or something
I tried it too. All the available software seemed like Chinese malware and in the end they didn't work anyway. An Xbox 360 wired controller with a USB port works much better. Microsoft-branded ones will automatically work with PCs, Gamestop-branded ones will download their own driver and work once that's done. Is there any reason why you need a PS4 controller rather than an Xbox 360 one?
Presumably OP owns a PS3...

Might want to mention what program it is. Maybe someone knows something about it.
