and if so what weapon would be best?

do it with a battle xbow, like me~!
If it suits you and is obtainable for you, I'd say to anvil it with either toy machine gun, wild hunter cross bow, pink shiner crossbow or blue shiner crossbow. They are the only selected crossbows that I would actually keep on my mm without a weapon nx cover since they look decent and don't block the face
Nx weapons > all anvilled choices since your face is covered pretty badly with most non nx choices </3
Anvil everything you own with lvl 10 archer equips.
I have an Oyamatsumi's Mind Expansion Bow OR if u want i have a toy machine gun too.

Imo the fafnir crossbow looks ugly, so I would anvil it. I'm going to anvil my crossbow to another one when it is released.
