Whats one feature you wish was still in the game?
I'd have to say the Family system. It was really convenient being able to teleport to nearly anyone if you were in the bigger families and the EXP buffs were nice as well!

being able to dojo w/ friends
Guild PQ.
I guess PvP. Only reason I played a lot during it's run. It was severely flawed, but just like all other Nexon games, you learn to deal with the bs and enjoy the positives it has to offer. It is not unique, but there's something about it that you cannot find in other fighting games.
Also the community was small, but generally really good.
Monster Carnival 30~50 and PvP. Used to use Nightwalker in pvp and dominate the whole map and I used to pay 500k per win in Monster Carnival.
The one that stopped all the lag so we could play
I have quite a few, but I'm sure most of them have already been mentioned earlier, so I'll just say Mini-Dungeons.
@athmyst and @xylyls, gpq has been back for the past 2 years now. Its just no one goes because the boss hasnt been tweaked to fit the standards of current maple and the rewards are trash. I only remember running it when it first returned just to feel the nostalgia lol.
@beefly: Oh, I wouldn't know if that was the reason but yea it would be understandable if they lowered the HP for that reason. I had a hard time surviving on a Crusader in Capture the flag if I had the flag. I think that's why I didn't do much Capture the Flag.
@hualicious: I actually think Capture the Flag was the reason for the 'fix' because thieves could just FJ over there and win.
@beefly: Ah yea ok, I liked that Chaos PVP. My favorite was Blue vs Red but I liked Solo too, unfortunately I didn't play much Capture the Flag. I got 2 medals from Chaos PVP and the Medal NPC still shows the Capture the Flag medal quests on my Hero.
I finished off many players with Panic, Coma and Shout!
The 'revamped' PVP was crap, and players found out fast it's not fun and then they started to bot lol.
@vicetone that'd be great. I fee like more than anything it was the community that made the game so fun back then though. Most of us were rather young so it's nostalgic. Even with a better population I don't think we'd get that feeling back.
@ecarina I loved CWKPQ. Not only was it a great way to make money but it was awesome having to get together 10+ people and work together. That doesn't happen anymore.
@athmyst I wish I had gotten to do more Guild PQ's. By the time I was in a competent guild that ran them regularly there wasn't much time left before they started to shut it down
Guild pq was fun too...sadly i was the only one in my guild to do the lvl < 30 jq :<
cwkpq. As frustrating as it was, it was fun and actually felt cooperative.
A decent population
Feature: Where did the bonus potential scrolls go?
But what I really miss is the old Victoria Island. With the Pig Beach, the old maps, the roads to the dungeon, the Hidden Streets, the secret places, etc.
Duey, dood. I don't like drop-transfering, dood.
@hualicious: Yes it was, or at least I remember the majority of PvP's lifetime was after the 'fix'.
I haven't seen any Heroes since, the occasional ones die too fast. I assumed since HP was decreased, Heroes had less time to build up combo buffs.
I just know, poor WH and bucc had nothing, and the mages had extra Battle Att because of some bug that converted their Matt to Batt.
PvP from the chaos update no doubt.
Nightlords, Evans with infernal blast, even Ice Mages dominated
EXP was amazing there too
@beefly: When Nexon lowered the HP for everyone at the Chaos PVP, was that like after a week or something it was released? I do remember they changed the HP after they released it. I didn't join PVP right after the patch. I did play after the first change. I played on different jobs, but I don't remember which one I tried all.
At that moment I was training a Fighter/Crusader PVP was released. I think I didn't join PVP because I was spending my time at Golden Temple hunting for those GM Scrolls (which probably got removed in the same maintenance they adjusted the HP in PVP). So I joined after they adjusted the HP. Crusaders at PVP were awesome and simple. I still have screenshots with high scores. At 4th Job (Lv120) it was a lot harder because a Hero doesn't get all the fancy full screen attacks, so compared to other jobs, Hero didn't really get much in 4th job. So I had a much harder time there but still managed to get some nice score. Also I didn't mind the delay at PVP on my Crusader/Hero at all unlike my NL.
@jumpingsky: The KS wars were great. I loved having 30k hp and being able to tank a hit while in berserk, wheras most people would just die in one hit. Rushing it into people was fun.
Maple Trade System
@bleute: Good old days! I still have my hp buffed Drk which is now kinda crap..
@beefly: Ah yes I remember now. I rather enjoyed the first rendition of PvP although getting Gallant Coins was always a pain in the butt.
@xylyls: Chaos PvP was the first PvP, if you remember items dropping in bubbles and Demon Slayers spamming Demon Cry, that's the one I was referring to missing. (The one that has Ice Knight mode too.)
There was another one that came out around Tempest, no level tiers, no items, Fox only.. I mean all stats are included such as %stat and Watt/Matt.
Then there's that control a boss thing nobody does.
@antisenpai: This was a rude awakening for me. I was like, "Oh, that's neat!" but then I realized that you can't do the esc arrow keys anymore
@fradd @littleTLK i totally forgot about CPQ. One of my favorites! I miss PQ's in general
@beefly was Chaos PVP different than the standard PVP? I'm not sure I remember that as well
The ability to hit esc and use my arrow keys to change rooms in FM.
Wizet being independent from nexon.
Bigfoot being relevant and actually being able to kill people
If we're talking about a feature that was removed rather than something that's never been here, then I would like to see old school CPQ come back.
Also, would like my old beginner defense formula back. Tanking 1s from everything was nice. At least the new formula is also pretty broken, taking less than 1k damage from touching cygnus.
@stoker that wasn't that long ago, I dunno why it's died so fast.
Definitely the original PvP, it was so fun.
Making PQs worth it and social as well would be nice, instead of the grindfest R&J is.
Bob the snail
yoo pqs in general honestly the social aspect of maplestory was the best part
i think the game could be a lot better if they just buffed pqs and made mobbing only necessary if pqs were filled up. that way people could still fight over clicking into pqs and talk to each other at the same time
CPQ, but I want it to go up to level 250.
Additional options would be nice to bring to GMS.
@beefly: I was laughing so hard when I was 1hkoing everyone with a low damage dawn warrior. It's still giving me a chuckle. I was killing them right as they were landing.
Chaos PvP
I know it was unbalanced, but if it was tweaked right it could definitely work. Nexon "fixed" it by lowering everyone's HP and now I remember Heroes and NLs completely sucking after that. The best part was it being competitive without any microtransactions that gave an advantage (except the lv180+ one, but nobody went there).
I'm about to go on a rant here, that newer PvP was HORRIBLE! I had a buddy who was a max damage Mihile, and he and this other highly funded F/P mage just kept 1HKOing each other left and right. It just goes to show that the max potential in that arena was disappointingly boring.
