Banking rewards, points, creditcard

Have any of you saved up points from using bank accounts/credit card from banking and used the points to get a reward?
-Which bank did you bank at?
-What was the main way you got points for rewards?
-How much and what did you purchase with creditcard?
-What was the reward you chose and how many points did it cost?
wow $170 worth of points just from coffee/lunch, that's probably over $1000 spent on lunch and coffee. Do you pay off the credit statement through your checkings or savings, or maybe in person with cash at the bank?
haha I wish I could've made 170 from coffee/lunch. I used coffee/lunch to indicate that I use my credit card for everything. Even my $1 drink I get at my university store is purchased with my credit card. I made 170 because I purchased books/furniture/flights/etc...
Yes I pay it with my checking bank account. I have a stable salary, which makes it easy for me to know when to stop using credit card.
I use chase. I'm college student and I spent tons of money on coffee/lunch using my credit card. By the end of the year I got $170 worth of points. Rewards are great if you know how to use your credit card. I treat my credit card as my wallet, meaning that I will never consider buying more than what I can actually pay. Plus, the credit card is less messy and you can check out quickly because you there is no change.
No matter how many points it says you get, it will never add up to the amount you paid. That being said, when it comes to credit card rewards, it's usually best to get something that will earn you miles for an airline.
