Should I go to University?

I recently got my AA degree at my local community college and in most cases it would prompt for a transfer, but even though I got accepted to my local university, I'm undecided.
I don't really know what I want to major in, so my default is a Bachelor's in Social Work (AA in sociology, go figure). Should I go to university and maybe eventually find a different major while taking out loans to pay for said classes or take a year off to work and maybe gain more actual experience?

@ZombieOverlord:
What i mentioned earlier was partially vague. The best thing you can do is find a company that happens to suite your major and pretty much apply for an internship whether it be on or off campus. I highly suggest on campus like the other side where research is done, not where students are. Most of the time, you wont get the spot so you gotta start from the rock bottom. Be ready to just work for free for months until they trust you enough to do bigger jobs. My teacher's brother wanted to do finance and what he did for 5 years of his life was locate a company, and volunteered. At first, he spent 1 year taking out trash and cleaning for free. He worked like 20-30 hour weeks without pay just to move up. Eventually, he got paid to take out trash and it kept going from there. Soon after that, they asked him to do more tasks like data entry until he got to a point where they noticed he was somewhat intellectual and had potential. To make things short, he eventually got moved up from garbage duty to his actual profession. As of right now, with the same company he worked for, he makes easily over 150k a year on his own.
Whats holding you back? Im assuming you live in the US. The US is getting more and more competitive if you havent noticed already so a higher level of education would be better. Also, it seems as if you dont have a full time job that you can comfortably rely on so while you are back in school, it buys you more time to gain internships and whatnot towards companies that may interest you. Internships will help you a lot
Well, monetary reasons mostly. I come from a poor household, so the idea of going into debt isn't very inviting to me. I haven't had a job in a few months because juggling between that, school, and my family would be too much. Any advice on where I can start on internships?

you could always major in computer science or something technological since SJSU is pretty big on techy things and it is situated right in the silicon valley
hmm I would say if you're not sure then don't start yet..if you're switching around majors that will only cost you more time+money in the long run (plus if you're a transfer student you're going to pass your 90 units and they'll start pressuring you to graduate and take upper division courses). so yeah..sjsu has a pretty mediocre administration and I've gotten kicked out of classes required for my major in an effort to get transfer students to graduate "sooner" and they just don't have consideration for anything lol so best go in with a mindset of knowing what you want so that the administration won't screw you and your education over in the end
Well that's a rather depressing scenario. If they're going to force me to graduate so soon, is it possible to delay the transfer even though I already got admitted to sjsu? I'm considering more deeply on taking the year off to work and maybe explore what I'll enjoy in life then resuming.
if you're going into social work you'll for sure have to get your master's degree so if you're ok with spending more time in school then go for it. also if I recall you live in the same city I do and as far as I know the majors at the uni are incredibly impacted so switching majors after you start is pretty iffy..you'll have to take extra classes to fulfill the req to switch majors and even then it's not a 100% guarantee they'll allow you in. Best choose what you want before you start.
na i wouldn't. Don't choose a major that you're not interested in or have your heart set on.

Go to a career guidance counselor or take online personality tests that match your skills and interest with a occupation
The sooner you finish school the sooner you start making big salary job, delaying it will cost you in potential earning and savings.

You're still undecided on what you what to pursue, so I suggest you take a year off. Work during that off-year, and save as much money as you can, for when you finally decide to enroll. The less loans you take out, the better.
