Truth is I usually forget what hapoens or the series gets axed or something, but I think a good series shouldn't have to rely on its ending/middle to make the beginning interesting.
So I'd prefer those spoilers to not be there.
@sparkshooter The only one that I honestly forgot was the one that ROD TV had but they did it so tactfully that it was an easy thing to forget and really didnt give away much.
@irony madoka is both a true and false statement but im sure those of us who watched it know the reason why
Wow you watched ROD TV too? I really liked that anime, but apparently not many people have seen it.

Reminds me of Malcolm in the Middle's opening which isn't an anime, it was a cold opening. I negatively think it's a hook to make people watch anime fillers

Depends on the anime, really.

Funny bit of trivia, by the way... the opening scene in Gurren Lagann where what looks like Simon and crew are attacking from a spaceship? It has nothing to actually do with the rest of the anime. The team at Gainax actually completely forgot about that scene when doing the rest of the anime. XD

Honestly, by the end of the series, I usually forget any spoilers that they hinted in the first episode.

Depends on execution IMO. It's fine to show an end result, kind of like how Steins;Gate did it, especially since there was the plan of making it very un-actiony for the next 10ish episodes, which many people found slow, but through things like the opening/ending, and those first 2 episodes, there was always an uncanny feeling that something wasn't right. Then bam you hit the second half and now you're even more hyped (atleast I was). If it ruins the ending and makes it anti-climactic, of course it wouldn't be any good.

i know i've seen shows that do it, but for the life of me can't remember.
anyway, the question is pretty general so it's hard to answer. sometimes it's pointless, other times it undermines the story, and sometimes it's done well.

I'm a huge fan of them usually. They tend to make me very curious about how the story gets to point B from point A, instead of the usual way.

I prefer the journey over the destination in those types of shows

Akatsuki no Yona showed the last scene of the season on the first or first few episodes and it annoyed me a bit, big spoiler showing who the dragons are and that she got all of them.
