Man Im kinda annoyed
at people trying to save people who already committed suicide and are about to die. Then this person comes up and says "everything will be alright now that you are paralyzed below your neck from that fall!" Lool at the people thinking the depressed individuals usually regret suicide. The adrenaline rush and the instinctual will to survive prolly made the person regret midair but 1 year later its back to more depression mode because of paralysis. Srsly people its their fate and their own will to end their own LIFE. Try to understand them on deeper levels rather than blindly obeying society's demand to protect people from death.

@sammi: explain?
lol. you guys do not understand what OP said. He said that there is no point trying to save someone who's already attempted suicide and is dying, and it's true. That is the most stupid ******* thing someone can do to a person. Their life will be even worse.
@omegathorion: I never said it was a selfless act, but yeah you're right. If suicide sits right in their head and it offers them some kind of peace, then the "acceptable" thing would be to let them do it. I don't think I'd personally be ok with it though
I can see why you chose AbyssMind for your Basil ID; your mind is an immeasurable space of nothing.
It's not about following some social demand to save people. If you genuinely care about that person, you will do your best to keep them in your life, and obviously, that would suggest they gotta be alive.
The opposing train of thought is that if you care about someone, then you shouldn't control them and you should let them do what they want, even if it hurts you.
But in general, suicide is just such a large topic that it's really, really unproductive to use broad sweeping generalization statements such as the ones being posted all over this thread.
That is not how it works. Even a faceless sentence like "I don't want to live." Is just a cry for help. Human nature is to show compassion. Especially when someone is in distress.
Sometimes people aren't rational enough to know what is good for them. Life is to important to simple let your mind makes a decision that your heart should.
@above: nah it is ingrained in you(brainwashed). If you truly understand then you will jus try to discourage them from doing so but if they have already done so and you're trying to save their injured body you are a fool
