Fix for town lag

does anybody know how to fix that ruddy town lag?
It is extremely hard to move around.
Is it possible to skirt around the game WITHOUT using towns?

I think it is Cassandra/Maple Admin/Gaga causing it, so it's Nexon's problem.
If your PC has an NVIDIA card, and you're running with gamelauncher.exe, it'll conflict with the profile of "Need for Speed: World" as that uses the same executable. MapleStory runs poorly on a Dedicated Graphics Card as it is a sprite game, and no graphics are actually generated, but are rather simply loaded from the game files, hence why it runs better in Integrated Graphics. The profile conflict causes MapleStory to run on your Dedi card, and it lags a lot. Might not be your problem, but I know multiple people who have the same issue.
I do not have a NVIDIA card but I do run with gamelauncher.exe. Is that the problem?

The OP is referring to his client lagging, not the connection.
I read somewhere that it's because of Gaga or Cassandra, because of some type of animation movement/lag.
Not completely sure, although it was pretty convincing.
aqua road should prove this theory cause they are inside a house, when you go inside of it you lag ...

Perfect example that is Nexon and not our comps, Aquarium town. No lag whatsoever in town! If you enter where gaga, maple admin and cassandra are located, BAM! Hello lag.

Again it's not us... is Nexon.

n months later lag still not fixed
face the fact they will never fix it and yes its mostly nexon fault not user
I wonder how many times I have seen this kind of thread over the years for now... and I'm surprised so many of you out there still have town lag...

This method works for some and it doesn't work for others.
But so far, all the people whom used the method I suggested don't experience lag in town anymore so it's worth a try.

First thing first, go Google "Iobit".

Download Advanced System Care, Malware Fighter, Smart Defrag, Game Booster and driver booster.

The rest is just simply install your PC and do a full scan with all those software.
As for Game Booster, just use it to boost your PC performance whenever you're gaming.
I just did EVERYTHING you said, to no avail
still lags like hell in towns

@7mil: Actually FYI it can be many factors other than the computer/laptop itself... for instance back home i don't lag on my computer nor my laptop at all during MS, but being in Australia i get massive town lag... So what does that tell you exactly? Yes it is a factor of the internet out here but then why do i lag in towns but not anywhere else? I'm not basing it all on the server side but for the vast majority of people it is server side because how can living in a different country only affect my town lag but no lag anywhere else in the game whatsoever. It can vary on the updates that come out which for some reason bug out for some but not others which would explain why not everyone gets town lag, so that could be partially the reason why he is now lagging more in towns than he did before... He clearly hasn't made massive changes or adjustments to his computer that would affect it that badly. Anyway i'm not here to argue, we both put our points across and it could be any of those factors that i've listed above as well.

It is definitely not the laptop. My laptop can run most games fine at max settings and a few patches ago maple was running fine, but now it started to lag in towns. It is on nexon's side because every map that isn't a town runs with 0 problems.

I use control alt delete to open the windows security box, then I esc out of it and the lag stops for a bit, then when it starts lagging again, I repeat.
People that are saying it's the computer are completely wrong... It's the games dynamics and something has gone wrong somewhere in their coding of the game, especially for towns... I don't lag ever anywhere else but when i get to a town i start to freeze up and movements are extremely slow... I can run pretty much every high graphics game on full settings and never have a problem ever. I never lag on my pc which is over 8 years old, but my laptop lags like hell in towns, it is a problem with their coding, which is server side.
PC > Laptop.
There's a difference, I'm pretty sure he's taking about his laptop. Then it's the computer itself, like I said before it's most likely his RAM. Since he said he's never lagged like this before. So yes it is his computer FYI. My computer started lagging out of nowhere in towns and I bought more RAM and replaced it. I don't lag anymore even when nexon's servers are screwy.

It's a graphics issue caused by cassandra/gaga. It's not a matter of "oh I have a great gpu and it still lags" for some reason certain older graphics cards are having issues with running the animations for those npcs

I've read somewhere that there is a new Hack going around that somehow lags players, similar to the map crashing going on ages ago, so we probably have to wait for a server check.

My laptop has a GTX 765 yet I still lag in town. It's the game.

I just came back after a year long break and I have never had this problem before.

It's most likely the cpu. You would need a new processor.
