3.They could easily delete duped items, they don't. Not only did they have a MTS leak (against their own ToS), but they won't even delete these "illegal" items.

I'm pretty sure 90% of MapleStory has encountered and use illegit items.

What, selling NX is like 1:50+ in most servers. And with websites selling meso at like $40=2 bil, it's basically the same as you buying/selling nx. Anyways, big point here is, both sides are to blame. Nexon isn't any less at fault than the hackers. They let this go on, for years. It's unacceptable, especially when you see how other companies deal with their games. Hacks like what we see everywhere in Maple, last only weeks at max. We've had dupes forever, hacked equipment for years, d/c's for years, do I really need more examples?

hmmmm, possibly. Didn't know that. I still payed for it legitimately and still don't respect them. i expected someone to comment on my gear but not like that. atleast the gear wasn't hacked, just acquired by people using possibly hacked gear.

@WithAPassion: I'm not defending anyone. I'm throwing points out there for everyone to think about.

I don't advocate hacking, I simply don't think that it's a 'bad' thing. If there weren't hacks, half the equips in the market wouldn't be there, and they'd rise in price so much that nobody would be able to afford them. Hackers inflate, yet at the same time, stimulate the economy. Not to mention, there would be loop-holes in the system that Nexon would never know about otherwise (although they still don't act on them). And at that, they make the game less expensive for people who aren't able to merch every hour of their life, and don't want to spend thousands on nx.

At the same time, I hope that Nexon DOES fix the game so that everything is more genuine. But, they've let serious problems plague their game for years, it's their fault for that. You cannot deny that fact. That being said, I agree that hacked items are kind of lame only because nobody wants to play a game where everyone has the same items and capabilities. BUT, do notice that otherwise, this game is a pain in the ass to fund yourself in. And even more a pain in the ass to play without cash. It's a catch 22. They fix it, the game is more genuine. They dont, and the game becomes financially ridiculous again.

Sorry for the walls of text.

I never once praised him, or even praised his damage or anything. I'm simply wondering why it 'isn't impressive'. I guess I sort of understand, but I still sort of cringe at the idea that people find honor and pride in not hacking. Nexon doesn't care it would seem, so why should we?

And Maplestory very much so IS competitive. Not to say it isn't for just fun, but you know. Nobody needs 200%+ stat in this game for any reason, it's purely for competitive reasons as far as I'm concerned. With the allowance of like 30 people in major raids, you seriously only need average equipment at best. Yet people stat grind, the worst cases being when people have a GREAT item, but cube it for like... 3% more stat value. They do it because they want to be better than others, or at the very least they have a goal of being better for themselves.

About CoD. The example you gave is off, only because you're comparing hacked equipment to hacked gameplay. Hacked equipment in maplestory would be equivalent to using a code to unlock all guns and attachments, and MAYBE increasing like... the amount of damage they do or something. What you compared it to, is like him using a hack to straight up 1-hit ko every boss.

And finally, the game isn't a mess just because of the hackers. Look at Blizzard, and other subscription based games. They take their games [b]seriously[/b]. Sure hackers mess up the game. But who's job is it to clean it up? Nexon takes months to reply to user concerns (tickets), skills in the game are glithced for months on end (some don't work, some give MUCH better bonuses than they should), d/c hacks have been around for [b]years[/b] as well as duped items and hacked equipment and they still haven't acted on it, they had daily rollbacks at one point for christ sake. Blame Nexon. They LET their game become this way, and they don't care, so this is what should be expected.

And how are you so sure that he payed for it through money gained from hacking? And I feel like a lot of meso's nowadays that are in circulation are dirty anyways. Same goes for a lot of items; some hackers play it 'safe' and use enhancement hacks to just put 2 or 3 (a believable amount) of enhancements on.

They just did it in Ems. In Ems, most guild's also were 100% against hacked/illegit weapons and armor. Hell, many of us didn't even accept that there were guildies with bought empress clothing. I can clearly see that GMS is different.

390-46= 334+ 25% = a total of 430 weap att without a weapon? how is this possible? he must have a 30+ att BFC and 20 att minimum on all his equips. should be 6 seconds if his 46 att claw had 50% boss. what is his best self made weap att equip?
