The Parental Influences Thread
How did your parents influence you? Did they instill any values into you (now, they could be good or bad)? My mom is awesome and she isn't exactly like the other typical asian parents. If I get a bad grade ( not like i ever did), she wouldn't care as long as she knew that I tried. She taught me to respect elders, be understanding, be forgiving, compromise with others, be humble, be hardworking, never give up, to believe in myself, etc... (Too many to list ) How about your parents?

Parents were really never around to support me, leaving it to my grandma to take care of me. She has taught me a lot growing up and I have no idea where I would be without her. Respect toward other people is probably what I took away the most from being with her.
Grew up in a Christian background but as usual you have conflicting middle eastern culture to come in, a culture that hates gays and a culture that tends to hate others if you don't believe in what they believe whether it's morally or spiritually. The only thing they've influenced me in is striving to be successful and being stubborn. But that doesn't work in their favor since me being stubborn makes me not cave in to their ideas of a right society. The things I do at times displeases them, or the things I believe in. Like how it's okay to have a girlfriend at my age.

Don't think it'd be a good idea if i share my experiences and influences. It'd make me go off in this thread and may cause it to be delete and locked it but, I'll just say that my parents. Uhm dad specifically negativity influenced my life as a teenager and barely if not never taught me or showed me anything beneficial that could help me in life.
Be respectful, care about others, charity
