What if there was only Five heroes? O
ok ok so hear me out, we obviously have 6 heroes, but Nexon's original intention was to have 5 that spelled out MAPLE
what if I tell you, there was only 5, and one of them is a fake and never should've existed?
my theory is that luminous is fake. here's why:
during the fight, shade sacrificed himself to save the others obviously. but my theory is that before shade sacrificed himself, lumi did not exist and the world only consisted of 5 heroes. But after sacrificing, there had to be a filler inside the 5 heroes or else the time line wouldn't make sense and the universe might get messed up. So a new filler hero was created named Luminous. Therefore he's the "5th" Hero. Nexon originally made lumi a mage instead of pirate because at the time they said there was no pirates. But having Shade as a "6th" hero obviously made that false. And instead of Luminous being the one that sealed the black mage, it was Freud who did it and they had luminous sealed them so it made sense in everyone's memories and therefore Shade is forgotten. But after he was revived in the Maple World, instead of having Lumi erased, nobody would remember him so Lumi stayed and he created a whole new timeline just from him being forgotten
and if this is right, what if Shade's name isn't shade? or Eun Wol? What if shade's real name is the actual L hero known as Luminous?
so somewhere, in another parallel world, Shade could just simply get frozen with the other heroes instead and Freud would also be frozen since he wouldn't be able to seal anything, and in that parallel universe they could all be alive still and Evan would still be a farm boy

I believe Shade would have been the one to be added on later, as pirates were added in later than the rest and it's all quite "convenient" that nobody can remember Shade.
That, plus since Shade is the "forgotten" hero, his letter wasn't a part of MAPLE. They forgot to figure out how to fit him in there.
Edit: And as said above, it's not an in-universe thing, as there's a big issue with Freud being the old hero and Evan being the new one, and MAPLE being the name of the world before Evan was even born.
