Bucc vs Thunder Breaker

So, I'm looking to make a master of fisticuffs. I was thinking of making a thunder breaker, since I love the concept of them chaining electricity from mob to mob. However, I suspect that there's some sort of late game power trade-off. So, which one would you recommend, keeping in mind power at level 120, fun up to that point, and long-term usefuless?

it is the ascend/thunder combo but it's not like the chart is realistic anyways. take it with a grain of salt

Tb is way better by experience.

Fun is opinon, so we can't exactly tell you which is more "fun".

I will warn you that TBs aren't entirely easy to level in 3rd job... which can be a bit discouraging when you get into R&J PQ levels. TBs (especially in 3rd job) rely on linking attacks into other attacks to be powerful. They don't tend to kill in 1 hit, but in a series of hits. In R&J, your best bet is to use Thunder+Ascension to gather and beat on mobs. Unfortunately, this also means that you need room to do so, which means that, if you don't get the bottom levels of the map, you won't be able to train effectively... and if you know anything about R&J PQ, you know that party members tend to take the ground level first and will KS constantly, which will mess up your comboing and damage output.

It makes the 9x levels pretty frusterating if you go in there, to be honest. Sometimes, it makes you simply just want to just somersault kick all the enemies on one side (it has high vertical reach, so you can take a whole side of the area yourself), though damage output suffers even more.

If you can MPE, it might be a little better, but you'll definitely need to get used to combo linking attacks.

100+ is considerably better from what I hear (though I haven't gotten too much play out of my own TB above 100).

I'm glad they didn't turn bucc into some combo obsessed freak. Energy is what this class is about since day one. I don't want to freaking alternate between two skills in everything I do like I did on TB. The whale looks cool, but that's all it does... looking cool. As ugly as unity is, at least its useful and worth using.

I see lots of basilers preferring TB over bucc, but in game (scania), I still see more bucc's than tbs. lol

I find Buccs to be boring and lackluster, just dont have fun with them like i used to. TB is more of the soul successor of what buccs should have been in the first place, plus they are really fun so i would go with TB.

everyone tells me buccs suck this and that but its only because they are weak with crap funding...i prefer buccs over TB's for bossing reasons and i just have a biased love for adventurers over any other class
Charging electricity = charging energy, same concept. Completely biased here, but I love Buccs. That laser is good for ksing flat maps. <3
TBs have no gameplay element that involves charging electricity, the real defining concept is that they have to chain at least 2 skills together for a damage boost
After playing both TB and Bucc really they're incomparable

At level 150 TBs get the hyper skill that allows them to spam the tornado attack

TBs can't spam one attack, you have to shift all the time. Really annoying in the long run
Buccs just spam a god damn laser. Really annoying from day one

TB is a lot like what I hoped Bucc would be after their revamp, but instead Buccs really got shafted for me. I really like TB gameplay.

I personally prefer bucc. Since you already stated you like tb's style, why not go with what your guts telling you. Personal experience on tb, 3rd job was very boring and it's pretty weak prelevel 150.
