I really wasn't expecting any serious answers, I just thought it would be a good topic...

Today's generation is more connected with things like the Internet which gives people more freedom to express themselves as well as a much larger userbase to interact with.

This world is becoming more and more non-straight(?) I guess u can say. It's becoming more and more messed up.

Homosexuals used to be persecuted (even killed) thanks to Christianity
So that's why the reported same-sex couples has risen recently, homosexuality was something to keep hidden

Just to give you an idea: I was literally kicked out from home at my 16 years when my parents found out I was dating a man, even if same-sex marriage was already recognized in Canada
Now imagine what scenario would have developed hadn't I been Canadian

Eh there's more understanding/acceptance of the LGBT community in today's culture which i think is rather awesome.

They're curious and yolo basically that sums it all up.

People think its ok to be a gay couple now because they see and hear so much about them through publicity.

Because the gay agenda to convert all heterosexuals is succeeding.

Probably because people feel less of a need to hide non-heterosexual relationships.

Times are'a changing, my friend.
But to be perfectly serious, it's not that hard. Your sister should see some improvement in the school system as far as bullying goes (safe school zone) and the rise of GSA/LGBTQ clubs.

Because lesbians keep getting hotter and hotter?
More people feel safer coming out now a days?
