My friend has become a super snob
A stuck up, snob at all movies and shows, and it pisses me off because anything you show him now he'll say its typical and bland. His idea of a good show is a plot or story he hasn't seen before, something he can't predict. He "thinks" he can predict everything in most shows he watches now. Hes one of those types that sit there and actively analyzes throughout the whole movie.
His favorite show right now is an american cartoon called Steven Universe. That should give you an idea of what he consider's "good".
He considers most all anime bad. He says they are all typical, and boring. All pretty boys and bad representations. The comedy is childish and idiotic.
He takes everything seriously now and hates any type of "satire and sarcasm". Anything that puts people down he hates with a passion.
He is also very religious and anything that bad mouths Christianity he hates as well. He says animes are always bias towards Christianity and it always shows the main char seeing the light and turning to atheism.
He hates most horror movies because they are just full of cheap scares and don't actually scare you.
He cares not for action so that is completely disregarded.
He says his main attraction is characters. He needs the characters in any story to be unique and not stupid. He can't stand idiot main characters anymore. They have to be sensible.
One of his most hated movies was teenage mutant ninja turtles. He said April Oneal was just eye candy throughout the entire show.
He deems entire shows bad just because of certain aspects.

nice friend
Looks like your friend has developed a bad case of chronic hipsteritis.
Also, lol @ Steven Universe.

I laugh when I see people complaining that they hate their friends. Just get some new friends or hang out with other people, bro. How is this hard? Stop talking to him if you don't like him anymore.

"My friend's opinions are different than mine. He's a snob"
I used to be like that.
Then I realized that every work, no matter how 'bad' I think it is, is meant for a certain audience, created with care and passion by whoever thought of it.
Except Daniel Tosh's Brickleberry. I refuse to believe that he put any real work into that show.

Don't concern yourself with him then. Just leave him be. If he wants to live his life being a big snobby critic on everything then just let him. If he can't enjoy somethings in life then he just won't.
I don't like Steven Universe. I see it has positive reviews but I cannot bring myself to enjoy its humour. So I have to agree with you on that one.
