Motivation on being a Dual Blader
I originally was playing a Night Lord when I first came back to Maplestory the summer of 2015. Even though I managed to reach max range at a very fast pace, I did not get the thrill in Maplestory that I was yearning for. It wasn't until then I stumbled across Nitroken's/Mazz Dual Blader videos (I actually used to play Maplestory with him back in the old days). Just watching what the dual blader could do automatically made me change classes even though I wasn't properly funded to do it. I lost a lot of range moving over; but, over the 3-4 months of consistent work, I think I've made some pretty good progress. I do intend on to keep going further, but as of now I'm slowing down a bit until I finish school this semester.
I'm just curious to know where/why people wanted to start playing dual blader. Personally, I think this even though this is one of the most hardest classes to fund, it can be very rewarding in the end. Surprisingly, I've met lots of people who say this class isn't even worth playing, but I disagree. So for the people who play this class, who/what inspired you to keep going? I'm very interested to see what others have to say.

If you were around when they first came out they had a white ninja suit with a Big Tiger mount.
I wanted that tiger so bad. Plus at the time I was playing TOS and Dual Blade was pretty much my way of being Lloyd irving in maple story.
Is there specifically a flaunt thread for DB's or some sort of accomplishment thread? I made one a monthish ago, but it didn't really stand out. That just kind of led me to the question if people posting there ss's somewhere else.
When I first started maple that was when Dual Blades had just come out and so I made one. I mained one. I mained it until lumi came out and then mained it again. Then my account one day was missing all of my characters on my main server, including my several year old DB. Made a new account and made another DB. No other class can compare to the fun a DB has whilst mobbing. The combos, the flashy abilities, and the mobility. Love the yellow jump attack(cant remember name) into flying assaulter into slash storm. Not to mention DBs can climb floors like mages can with a mid-jump "yellow jump attack".
I'm not sure. I made the class and it was really the first class I felt I wanted to level and play and haven't stopped. It's pretty cool and the skills are quite cool looking. I remember seeing blade fury and thought that was just awesome (really bummed they changed it even if they increased the range).
flashy and fun and is a ninja.
I made a Dual Blade the day they came out and haven't stopped since. I've played every other class they've released and they just dont appeal to me, the playing style of a DB is just enjoyable for me, i never understood why people dont just play whatever class is the most fun for them.
Damage doesn't make you enjoy something, it's playstyle. That's where most people go wrong.
Played a Hermit (yes HERMIT) when the Dual Blade promotional video was released and instantly liked the class. Been playing it since day 1 and I still find it fun. To me it is the most enjoyable class in the game (I have tried every class there is & most leveld to 150+). I just love the class a lot, its great overall for me. I have played through the US phase (Upper Stab was our main BOSSING and MOBBING skill) and through the PB addition to the skills (My god this was awesome and gave me chills when I saw the revamp). I plan to keep on going with Dual Blade to the very end, since its the last thing that makes this game enjoyable for me (bossing with it is WAY more fun than on my Xenon/NL/NW).
But.... but you're a shad </3

if you are unfunded, it's amusing the process to timing your asura with your others skills

Pretty much this.
I made a dual blader years ago when FABSUS/FATSUS was the method of training at LHC. I thought it was so amazing how all the skills linked together. But when Blade Fury and Phantom Blow came out, it just turned the class into another average class where you have one dedicated mobbing skill and one dedicated bossing skill. I haven't come back to the class since - this isn't to take away from anyone who mains a DB or finds them fun, just my personal opinion and why I started and quit DB.

Always gotta go with the thief in any rpg. Coolest class 100% of the time. And 2x the blades? 2x the cool. Unbeatable.
Cuz it's not slow like shads and more entertaining than throwing stars from a safe distance lolz I like it cuz the burst damage from Asura + AB link skill = perfect combo.
Sword art Online was my motivation. I wanted to be like Kirito <3
rebellious outlaw, with daggers in each hand... bad @$$
