What is your clothing budget?

For each type of clothing what do you go for? I am having trouble deciding if I should buy some things because I am interested in alot. Do you set a specific budget like no more then 25 for a shirt or 50 for jeans etc? Or if you are still a kid just an overall budget you use.

Oh good.
You finally dropped it.
It's not a waste for some people.
Some people can afford it.
@idunliku: but like I said the looks are subjective. I, for one, can never tell the difference between $20 and $200 jeans. And that's just one example. I'm just saying that you could spend money on something more practical rather than simple branding.
But to each his own...

trust me, if you ever had couple hundred dollar jeans, you can tell there's a huge difference in terms of the material quality and the cut, sewing patterns etc.. i'll give you one example of really expensive brand of jeans that a lot of teens wear here in nyc, they're called true religion, and depending on the pair of jeans, they can go from $200~$600 for a pair of jeans, but for this particular brand, it's not just that it's handmade, and the material. brands being made in america also can affect the price by a lot, since they have to pay the workers minimum wage, aside from other brands made in china or other countries, & majority of designer products aren't like target shirts, they're handmade
But you can get the same general cut for any kind of clothes
No you can't. o.o
It's designed better.
Hence the high price tag.
I dunno man, @fradddd has a point. If you're attractive already than you can buy poverty clothes and still look better than someone who spends hundreds of dollhairs on designer stuff
Being attractive has nothing to do with clothes looking good on you.
She's talking about the cut of actual item.
And how they fit. o.o

...I never said anything about being able recognize if they're designer or not. people buy premium denim for a nicer fit, cut, and quality.

really what it comes down to is how big your budget is and what you prioritize in clothing.. what you may not see in $200 jeans may be just you, but there is certainly a group of people and a market for them
it's just subjective, there's no arguing it because then it'll just come down to what people choose to spend money on lmao

designer/premium denim jeans do look infinitely better. the fit and cut is a lot more flattering, compared to "cheap" jeans. most importantly, ppl buy for the quality in premium denim, not necessarily the brand name. i have pairs of $$$ jeans that lasted for almost a decade, and they still look fab.

i do understand where you're coming from, how it's hard for most ppl to justify spending over $100 on jeans when they can buy it for cheaper. but imo, they're worth it.

@idunliku @Keywhees
Clothes have a significantly low price point where if you were to buy more expensive clothing, you wouldn't get any more practicality or durability or function out of it. I highly doubt a $15 t-shirt is going to last longer than a $70 one. Of course, with clothes that are normally expensive, like suits and tuxedos and such that are made with premium materials and custom fitted, the clothing might feel better or look higher quality or something, but that's subjective.

In other words, you are only paying for brand or design when you pay a lot of money for clothes.

As a 17 year old non-hipster guy, I'm not really sure what a good price for anything is. So I usually just buy what I need at stores like Kohl's. I know that stuff is more expensive at the mall. And I know that stuff is often cheaper (and of greater variety) online.

For example, what I'm wearing right now:
Pink Floyd shirt - $15 on Amazon
Pants - $20 at Kohl's

So yeah I don't get expensive clothes and I don't see the point in getting expensive clothes when they look the same.
Clothes are one of the few things where you do not get what you pay for.

depends really.. i used to go for all these name brands in pacsun or f21 but more recently i've been thrift shopping in brooklyn and have been finding great things.
generally it was around i'd say $90 bucks a week or so but now after i've been thrifting it's dropped to like $40, and with nicer clothes too <3

don't really got a budget, just buy what i like.
t-shirts;most of my tee's are streetwear brands, so they're 30-50$
hoodies;again, streetwear brands they can go for like 60~120
pants;usually buy abercrombie or hollister cargos/jeans, so around 60
shoes; i kinda consider myself a sneakerhead, so my budget for sneakers vary a lot, but the most i've spend on a pair was $250, a pair of flyknits.
jackets; prob a northface, for like 300~400
belts; i have a fendi belt rn, i got it for ~$400, planning to get a LV belt soon for 490
wallets;(dk if this is really considered clothing) a lv wallet, for $415
watches; my most expensive one, is a burberry watch for $1.2k but my dad's friend gave it to me as a gift
im still a teen btw lmfao

@cool123ter: No one mentioned a specific price because it was an example....lol. "If you like the item you will pay for it" That is not absolute. I may really like an item, but not willing to pay the price. Again, it depends if I like the item ENOUGH to pay a price that I don't think it's worth. I feel like I'm just repeating myself over and over again.

Originally, I would buy wateva clothes I thought would look good on me without thinking too much about the price...
Then I became more conscious of my piggy bank and began to buy my clothes as cheap as I could find...
But after a while of doing this, I found that the quality of the clothing really did matter to me in the end...
So as of now, it's fair to say I pair more attention to quality rather than the price..but that doesn't mean I'm willing to pay an absurd amount of money for my clothes (maybe $70+ for somethin like jeans ).
Oh yeah I live in Oz so our prices r pretty jacked up compared to u guys in the U.S (they get away with selling Levis for $100+ )

I generally spend between $15-$40 per pair of jeans. And this is on a discount after normally using some sort of coupon
or taking advantage of some sort of sale (otherwise they would probably cost me more like $25-$60).

For tops, around $15 normally. I don't spend more than that unless I really like the top. I'm not really a shirt person I guess.

For shoes, $20-$45. I never buy shoes without a coupon or discount sale.

$15 skirts
$15 shorts

In reality, I get most of these things even cheaper because since I'm sort of an addict shopper; I'm always paying attention
to sales and coupons and stuff so I always get good deals.

$10 for t-shirts, some exceptions
$20 for flannel or button up shirts
$30 for jeans
$20/30 for sweaters
$70 for shoes, unless they're boots or something I'll go up to $120
My mom still buys my boxers and socks >_<
Overall I'm pretty cheap when it comes to shopping and I normally only shop for new clothes every summer unless something fades or tears.

I won't spend more than
- $20 on a T-shirt
- $50 on a shirt
- $40 on pants (usually buy my pants in pairs, like 2 for $70 deals)
- $160 on shoes (usually for sports)
- $80 on sneakers
- $20 on shorts
Most are pretty low because I don't spend my own money so I try to keep it as low as possible. Once I get a job ima be so fresh on my momma

Clothing budget? I don't buy clothing often enough to set a specific budget just for clothes lol. If I have to buy clothes, I just try to keep it as low as possible. I stopped caring about name brands without even realizing it. So it can be a brand I've never heard of in my life, but if I like the way it looks, that's fine for me. To me clothing is a low priority as far as things to buy.

I tend to believe quality clothing is worth it, so I spend a considerable amount of money on it.. I stray away from designer clothing, however

I think the most expensive I'll go is Gant products, rly

But for shoes.. I'm willing to spend upwards of 300 for a nice pair of loafers, oxfords, boots, etc.

Premium outlets are the way to go, imo

great prices for great products
