How long is long enough?

In terms of waiting for someone to respond to winning your auction.

For instance, they auto win, you send them mail and try to contact them in game but to no avail over a couple of days. Do you wait out the period until you're about to lose the ability to leave feedback? Especially when they have an iffy feedback (I consider 70s~ and below iffy), do you bother?

I would usualy PM them, perhaps even several times. But if I cant find them online, or if they dont respond, I leave feedback about 24 hours or less before it expires. Usually I leave neutral feedback though if its a "no response" sort of thing. I dont give negative unless they respond and then dont make an effort to trade.

I send a persuasive PM that they will get negative if they don't respond after awhile and that I have screenshot evidence to file a ticket so I can't get wrong feedback in the past.

For feedback's sake, I usually wait right up until the last day.

I'm really generous about it and give them until the entire auction is about to expire. But in my own experience the person usually won't trade you after it's been like 3-4 days after the auction ended.

I know how you feel OP.
2-3 days for me. I give them the benefit of the doubt, that maybe they're busy. If no response to PMs (which you can check on your outbox to see if they had read your messages), after 2-3 days, I'd say no in a heavy asian accent: "NO GUUD, NO GUUD. YOU A BAD MAN"

For me personally, I sent them a MSG on basil and try to contact them over the next few days.

I always wait until the last day before I do anything because sometimes a person might just have an internet problem, or something might have happened that prevented them from replying or logging onto Maple.

@Corvjjek: That's on you to be honest, if they're seriously not responding to your PMs, check first. Look at your Outbox, and look at the PM you sent, if it's still highlighted yellow, that means it's unread, but if the PM is not highlighted yellow that means they read it. As to whether they responded.. eek.

I'd give neutral in many more cases than negative. I usually give negatives if I know for sure they saw my PM but ignored it, and the auction was close to expiring.

I usually follow through regardless of how late it gets. Even after the ability to give feedback disappears, if they respond and I still need the trade to happen, I do it.
I would wait a day or two for a response considering I sent them a PM. If no response, I don't feel so sure they'll commit to the auction.
So would you leave neutral or negative or what? I'm wanting to put the auction back up because I know it'll sell quickly, but I don't want to be a jerk
Theres no extensive psychological research that has been done to answer your question.
All I wanted was an answer of people's personal opinions/reactions for it, not 'research'
