Question about Magic Amplify
so i recently went back to my 145 F/P mage and i started testing out the skills when i noticed something. When using maxed Paralyze i was doing alot less damage then i should. with maxed magic amp does it add 50% M.att (seems very unlikely) or adds 50% more damage to my skills? cuz with maxed para it should be 261 * 1.5 = 391.5. my maxed range fully buffed and stacked AA is 27k and using elemental decrease im still hitting a cap of 67k non-crits but shouldn't i be doing closer to 100k's non-crits? (testing this on weak mobs)
Basically, does Magic Amplify add m.att or just increase skill damage by 50% cuz its not working for me <=(
@bowcreaters , @GoXDS so does that mean it would add 50% to my range? like if i had a range of maxed 10,000 after i maxed amp it would be 15,000 ? Or does it take 50% of my magic attack or something ?
Think of it this way:
Say your range is 10,000.
Multiply your range by 1.5 (Element Amplification) and use Paralyze:
10,000 x 1.5 = 15,000 x 2.61 (Paralyze damage) = 39,150
Multiply Paralyze's damage by 1.5 and you get this:
10,000 x (2.61 x 1.5) = 39,150
Nothing changed, it's just visible in your magic damage range now
Edit: Oh, maybe this didn't answer your question but yeah
Edit 2: Oh, and if you're using Paralyze on Fire-weak monsters with Elemental Decrease activated, they will take Neutral damage. Deactivate Elemental Decrease and you should be seeing
27,000 x 2.61 x 1.5 = 105,705 non-critical damage
@dablunt: It'll add 50% to your range in a sense that it's 50% Total Damage, so if you had zero Total Damage sources from elsewhere, then it's literally a 1.5x multiplier for your range (10k * 1.5x = 15000) like what you wrote. If you included Arcane Aim, then you'd have a sum of 90% Total Damage, which is a 1.9x multiplier for your range.
after the red patch AA and amplification shows up on your range now. now mages don't have low range and high damage (relative to range) anymore now you have high ranges and normal damage.
Arcane aim only shows up after you attack, amplification always shows up in your range.

Amp and AA both changed from hard multipliers to %total the moment they showed up in range.
