I know you can't get all that out of typing. I will always prefer writing with my hand over typing on a keyboard.
That "t" one doesn't make sense... You put the cross of the T atop when upper case, and middle t for lowercase. So what does the placement have to do with anything?

Unless they are speaking of solely lowercase. Then I feel over-critical.

I prefer writing on paper. It's easier for me to organize in the style I like, and I feel like it helps me remember it a little easier.

By the time I finish (hand) writing out some genius epiphany I've lost my train of thought. Thus I prefer to type things out whenever I can. It feels strange when I hold a pen and paper and my penmanship resembles a child's
I always write by hand, regardless if it's in-class notes or while I'm studying. The painstakingly slow effort really ingrains the subject into my memory so studying becomes a lot easier. Granted, I have a pretty good memory as it is, so the hand writing solidifies the things I already know.
Basically this, I hate typing notes and essays anyway

I type them all into my phone.
My handwriting is illegible and reading word documents gets boring. Writing in my phone is going to bite me in the ass one day though. It's not the best studying method.

I prefer to write by hand. It's what I got used to for note taking. I don't generally review my notes again anyways. The act of taking them usually puts them somewhere in memory. I then just re-read the textbook or whatever and do problems, unless there's something I can't remember I need class notes for.

If you mean re-writing notes before an exam, then I'll type my notes.
If they're already typed up before I begin studying for the exam, I will handwrite the notes over.

Umm.. actually there's a poll. I should've been more specific, i meant to ask what do you use when writing study notes before an exam? Not in class

I type in lecture (usually making notes on powerpoint), but I handwrite study notes for midterms or finals... it depends on the class though.
