Musical Instruments
Do you guys play musical instruments? If so, what do you play and how did you start playing it?
I've been playing the violin for a large portion of my life, actually started in the 4th grade where I joined my school's orchestra. Since my mom forced it on me, I wasn't really interested and I didn't really improve. It took a while until I started appreciating playing, and I wanted to start getting better. That's my story anyways. I'm interested in reading yours

Couldn't even play the recorder back in elementary school.
Ironically I know a lot about sound equipment though and have ran a few live sound events.
I know two chords on the guitar!
And yes I know what you're all thinking, I am very talented indeed.
Showed quite a bit of interest in the piano when I was younger.
Unfortunately, sheet music turned me away from it. I'll learn one of these days.
acoustic guitar for like 3 years. I have to quit next month and im kinda sad about that.
I've been playing the piano for nearly 14 years now. I started when I was 5, which is something that my parents made me do. I hated it for a really long time because I played in like 3 contests a year, and I'd barely have any time to learn songs that I actually wanted to play. They were mostly all Classical or Baroque pieces, and I feel like I never want to play one of those pieces again. During the last year, because I decided not to do any contests my senior year of high school, I got to play a lot of songs (contemporary ones) that I wanted to learn how to play, and because of that I've enjoyed playing the piano a lot.
I really want to learn how to play the violin too sometime. It's my favorite instrument to listen to probably.
violin- 6-7 years
i didnt really like violin so i decided to take up piano as well last year
I play piano for most of my life but don't know music theory and hate the fact that I cannot improvise.
I also played flute for 4 years.
Improvisation really just takes rudimentary knowledge of scales and their intervals, it's simple when you get down to it. Now improv jazz, that's something I'd love to learn to do.

I can play alto sax, cello, and bass guitar
