Anyone making any preparations for any possible out comes that day? I personally am gonna have like 4-5 gallons of water saved and around a week or 2 of canned food. As well as an axe for a weapon and a full tank of gas for my car with a 5 gallon tank for back up.

There will be a lot of riots, crimes and suicide the day before or on that day. People are just dumb...
Edit: Who knows, maybe that shooting at the Connecticut elementary school that happened yesterday morning was because some moron thought the world was ending so he thought that if he killed those children then they wouldn't have to see that day come. People are insane, you'll never know or understand what some people think.

since the 21st is a friday and I got that day off i'm gonna lean back and relax and enjoy the day no matter what happens. Not gonna go crazy over it.

Because there are totally going to be riots when the world doesn't end when it should have according to an ancient calendar.
This totally makes sense.
Humanity has survived for a really, really long time, and there is absolutely no reason to believe anything special at all is going to happen on a random day in December, just because it marks the end of the calendar of an extinct civilization. That civilization has absolutely no mystical knowledge of the future... heck, they might have gotten too lazy to make the rest of the thing.
Now, unexpected things can happen at any time though. For instance, these are the possible doomsday scenarios:
1. Sudden outbreak of a plague that has no cure and wiped out whole civilizations. Your saved up rations won't help for that. You'll still die.
2. Suddenly, a crapton of antimatter just hits the Earth, and it goes boom (supposing physicists properly understand the phenomenon). Your rations aren't gonna save you, sorry.
3. Suddenly, all of the world leaders go nuts and start firing ze missilez. Rations don't help, you're probably gonna die.
4. Suddenly, Yellowstone erupts. Depending on where you are, food/rations may preserve you for a while.
5. Random objects traveling near the speed of light suddenly hit the earth from multiple sides. Rations not gonna help.
6. Something similar to these situations, but not listed here.
None of these events would occur due to that random calendar. It would just happen because it could. It could happen today. It could happen right now. It could happen tomorrow. It could happen in December 2013.
