How are you liking Glaical Chain

So now that we have had time with the skill how are you guys liking it.
Are you I/L Mages finding it amazing, lacking, annoying, OMG OPed, etc...?
What are the opinions of it from another classes point of view?

Me Personal: I am not all that thrilled or impressed with it. I already came in not liking it and I was hoping actually having it and using the skill would change my opinion but it hasn't. Don't get me wrong, the damage is nice and it freezes/causes DoT but I find its range lacking and I still hate that it pulls monsters close to me (I want a push skill). On top of that I feel it lacks orginality (its a BaM skill and pails in comparison to what F/Ps got) and people kept saying it will be great for mob control which it is not, the cool down on it makes it a poor mob control skill. Other classes don't like when I try to pull monsters to a corner with it so I don't even try. Its also annoying when they pin all the monsters and then I end up pulling some of them out (causing the monster(s) to hit the other classes in the process).

Glacier Chain~

Animation is oozing with sexyness!
its really fast, short delay.
hits 12 monsters, now thats not too shabby!
Causes DoT, since we don't have too much of that like F/Ps, its nice to have some to help with bossing and such.
ice element, balances out the overuse of chain lightning as a lightning element, giving us more options.
Ignores defence helps alot with bosses with high PDR, like zak.

Dislikes:
Damage-wise, its not really all that good for a 5 second cooldown skill...
and from another angle, 5 seconds cooldown is too much for a skill with that low damage output.
not AOE! :S i really wanted an efficent AOE skill at 4th job :S

what i would suggest to make it better is change the way the skill works, basically instead of shooting the chain forward and pulling it back, u shoot it forward, then it spins around ur char clockwise, pulling the monsters infront of u in, and lunching the monsters behind u into the air (freezing and causing DoT to them of course), and it would be more than just one spin (fast ones, so it wouldn't be a big delay) and each one would be like 600% damage, that would certainly turn this skill into something I/L archmages to be known for

I agree with the TS. First of all, I want a pushing skill so that GC can work correspondingly with CL. Second, Nexon needs to fix all the cool-down timers; they're always off by 3 to 7 seconds (yes, that irritates me A LOT).

Edit:
I agree with @HateSpirit that GC is great for stationary bosses and PvP.

@Asiaox123: Even when I'm not in Monster Park, the cooldowns are always off by a few seconds (they really need to fix that) They should probably put the cooldown times like 3 seconds for GC, 27 seconds for Bliz (Max level) so it would actually be like the right duration of the cooldown.

@Sengarasu: Like I said to ^^^^^^^^^, the cooldowns are messed up (of course)

It's a decent skill to me, I use it a lot at pvp and bossing. For training, not as much of a use, but I still use it for gathering on the platform I'm in, and for the DoT.

chain is kinda silly indeed. It's for DoT BUT they just suddenly dump DoT on i/l's who really were not focused on that to begin with. Honestly, I find mist eruption better. It's not that hard to cast mist while using paralyze and then explode. The DoT you accumulate with f/p is really amazing as well. i/l still have chain lightning though which is, imo, the best and coolest mage attack ever
I've been at lhc from 136 - 143 and haven't heard one complaint regarding GC.

Just GC in front of the range party members and those trying to pin/rush usually have high hp so it shouldn't matter regardless if they get hit.
Talking about MP (Monster Park) which I think is a very different way of trainning/party play than LHC.

Its meh. I have to completely agree with teh TS he listed all the issues however I find it useful while grinding because it usually takes about 3/4ths of the mobs hp and I end up using CL as a finisher. Otherwise I can live without it
GC's fine. At Monster Park, you can help your party pull/rush with GC, and it does great damage and gives nice DoT. Though Ice Demon can trigger Storm Magic as well, I find I use GC more often because it ignores a portion of the MDR of the mob AND because it does better damage than CL.
Other classes hate it at MP from what I hear. We can't pin the mobs because of the CD on GC and other classes can't rush/pin if we use GC on a mob because its hard to de-arggo it from us. Not to mention it pulls mobs out of being pinned sometimes and causes mobs to hit party members.
I think that is a glitch where the monster scatters after it has been mobbed. It happens with Rush, MM, that Aran pushing skill, and FA as well. I think FA pushes.
Yeah I've noticed that a lot. I've had monsters scatter all over the place after using Poison Breath. o.o

only gripe i have, is i wish that the range was 50% longer, or that it had the cd reduced by 2 seconds. also, not both of the things i just mentioned, just 1, and leaningheavily* toward the range increase

i would prefer it be the I/L's version of dark shock. A pure damage and awe inspiring move. Thunder strike or something.

It's alright. It's only level one so I might be expecting more once I max it. Only problem is it really doesn't do more damage then my CL at my current level (with crit ofc). Still pretty fun and and boosts my CL damage abit due to Storm Magic.
Overall 6/10

@XxSluhsiexX: wow you were... that lazy? :o

@Arcana27961: God i hate that -_-

@blacks151 : Sorry pat! -huge grin-

But in all reality, I'm loving GC. Obviously, I can't comprehend how mages deal with it in a training sense [points at level of self], but when it comes to moving bosses, it's extremely handy. I have this weird system during bodyguard where CL eventually KBs it so far that it's out of my range. So I have a funky GC, ID, spam CL and repeat combo going on now, which I thoroughly enjoy. The push-pull system is actually quite handy in these situations, because it lets me be lazy and not move

@blacks151: Yeah I can see that getting annoying. It's bad enough that people attacking does mess me up when I'm setting up for ME (maybe it's not efficient to cast mist first anyway?) it would be annoying to have someone pull the monsters, not only into me, but out of the range for ME.
Anyway, Glacial Chain is a new skill so it'll take awhile for most people to get used to it.
and i'll continue to hate it till i/l's learn not to drag my mobs out from where i pinned them and make me take damage -_-

My I/L friend almost never uses it (I think I've seen him use it twice?) and Chain Lightning seems to get things done relatively easy enough. Compared to Mist Eruption, which is F/Ps' main bossing skill (and I have to add that I love that skill to death <3), Glacial Chain seems more situational. That isn't too bad as the Demon and Big Bang skills were very situational before Ascension, and they served their purpose well enough. Plus, compared to those aforementioned skills, GC is freakin' godly.

Anyway, Glacial Chain is a new skill so it'll take awhile for most people to get used to it.

I rarely use Glacier Chain when training.
On a scale from 1 to 6, 1 = hate it, 6 = love it, I'd say I'm around a 5.
It's a nice skill, but I wouldn't mind if it changed, or even got removed.
It has some ups and downs, but I'm not complaining.

Loving it, @above mentioned most of the stuff I like about it. It also pulls into eliquines range quite comfortably and doesnt ever really get me hit. It isnt the most synergestic skill, but I Like it.

I played around with it on my I/L and it doesn't make sense lol
CL's range extends super far now. like there's no point in pulling monsters towards u.. i don't see the point lol

As an archmage skill, Glacial Chain makes no sense at all IMO. It has little to none of the strategic application of Mist Eruption, doesn't really build on anything for the class gameplay-wise, pulls stuff towards you whilst being an integral part of optimal DPS (high damage % + DoT for Storm Magic) making it downright irritating at any mobile boss and basically forces you to ram right up close in a party so as to not chance pulling a boss out of being pinned. Only pro is that it can pull stuff, which is offset almost entirely by it's bizarre cooldown.

Glacial Chain = anti-social, clumsy and not really made for the I/L class at all.
