The %pdr Ignore Issue
I've been looking to challenge cvellum lately, but it seems like I've been having some issues with its insane PDR. I am aware of the fact that vellum has an insane amount of defence and that its usually suggested to have a 90%+ effective %PDR ignore before trying to fight him, but I an rather confused on how to get any more % PDR ignore at this point. I have 1 line of 40% ignore on my emblem, maxed ambition, and lumi link skill, but I'm stuck at 82%. Do F/P's in particular need 2 lines of PDR ignore? Cause if I had known that I wouldn't have cubed through that 12%matk, 35% ignore, 30% ignore on my staff .

oh right, it does! no one mentions Zero cause less than Lumi and just harder XD
I think zero link skill adds ignore %PDR or is it something else?
@GoXDS, My cubing experience with the staff was actually pretty crazy, I dropped 2 cubes on it and the 12%matk/35%ignore/30% ignore popped up, then I got greedy, dropped another 4-5 cubes on it and 60%boss + 9% int popped up. I now thoroughly regret my decision. My 1 line of 40% ignore comes from my emblem.
@duriel123 I'm overly biased towards %Ignore anyways (basil in general is biased against it though =P) so that looked like delicious potential to me. maybe swap out 1 of those %Ignore lines (unless that's what you did? or did I interpret correctly in that you cubed both lines out?)
@duriel123: Yeah, Superior vs Reinforced isn't HUGE until you compare the PDR in my opinion. And for the record I wouldn't feel TOO bad about recubing that depending on the potential it has now. My staff I personally have is 35% ignore/30% boss/9% Matk with 9%/9% matk lines in bonus pot and I use a 25% Boss neb. Though you could always look at reworking your shield if you really want the PDR. I personally actually prefer my %boss lines with a splashed 3rd matk line but I also have the 91% PDR ignore with Fires of Creation buffed.
if money isn't an issue, get a boss-arena emblem, and cube that for def-ignore.
you can get up to 35% lines on legendary, basically as good as your tier 3 explorer emblem.
switch to this def ignore emblem for vellum/Dorothy/cpb.
use your other emblem for everything else!
Yup I now regret cubing through that 12%matk/35%ignore/30%ignore on the staff >.<
I suppose one of these days I might want to try recubing for some more %ignore, but I can't bear to sacrifice the potentials I have at the moment. One idea that popped into my head was to perhaps make use of those %ignore pots and see how it goes.
@0o0Abbadon0o0, This is why I was confused, as I saw that other f/p's usually had around 90% with one line of %ignore. I suppose the reason my PDR is a little lower is because I'm using a reinforced gollux set, and I also lack the BT link skill. I actually re-checked and it turns out I'm at 84%, which is closer but still another ~30% off from 89%.

it's probably way more efficient cost-wise, resource-wise, and space (lines)-wise to go for %Ignore, really. so if you were thinking of cubing for more %Boss to do more dmg despite %Ignore, should try to net a few %Ignore Lines instead. 82% Ignore means 54 PDR for CVellum. getting 30% more %Ignore increases your %Ignore to 87.4%, making Cvellum's PDR 37.8. this is a whopping 35% increase in dmg against CVellum.
even if you had 90% Ignore, another 30% Line brings you to 93%, CVellum's PDR goes from 30 to 21, a 12.86% increase. if you had say 150% Boss+Total, another 30% Boss Line would only be 12% increase
Between Leafre set, Superior Gollux set, RA set, and a 30% PDR line on my staff I had 89% (?) as a f/p. I also had lvl 1 lumi and BT links, and before recubing my emblem for more %matk over my 35% PDR line I had 91% which is ideal for Cvell.
The only thing I can remember is that 3 pirates set cards gives 2/4/6/8% PDR
and that title from PvP I think it was called "Avenger" (In case you even get it) which gives 5% PDR
I guess the %ignore nebs is a decent idea, but unfortunately I already bought 20% boss nebs back then when they were 1.5b each and slapped them on my shield/staff. I guess I might have to face the fact that I'll just have to get enough range to hit hard enough on Cvel despite the PDR.
I personally just use %Ignore Nebs, too. considering 40% Total from AA and Amp is visually also %total (though knowing Nexon, it might work as a multiplier. DrK's Cross Surge is the same), %Boss is meh considering the price, too. %Matk Nebs are also tiny, really.
