Does Hakus fan matter?

So I've been maining my Kanna since release and I've been wondering if Haku's fan counts. I don't think it does because whether he has one or not doesn't affect my range at all o.o

I'm curious though, has anyone rescrolled their fans with +10s?
I was going to. But then I went 1/10 getting first slot on the fan.... Using prot/guard every step of the way Gave up and used +5/+6
This sounds like your saying half the magic att on his fan is converted into a percentage... I've always suspected this. Would be nice confirmation.
Yup it is. @Demodango confirmed it in an older thread where I showed how it worked (back when you can see your m.att in the old UI). 50% of haku fan's m.att is converted into a %m.att buff.
Yea it's easier just to equip whichever increases your range more. In another thread I figured out when you start to be better off giving haku the stronger fan, and it's usually when your base m.att is greater than 200 (without fans equipped, assuming 0% m.att).

It's actually 120m.att and +50%m.att, or 100m.att and +60%m.att

Usually you give him the weaker fan unless you have a decent amount of funding pumped into your character. That is when you put the stronger one on him. At what point does this change? Just do a quick check with both fans and see which one gives you the better range

if the buffs aren't being buggy, which they have been repeatedly, the character equips the higher matk fan always. you have 100 and 120 fan. Haku gives 50% of w/e he has equipped. want 120+50 or 100+60?
Giving Haku my fan gives me a higher range so I'm just gonna give it to him for now~ thanks everyone
I'm not a Kanna expert, but I think the general rule is to give Haku the fan with more magic attack. If you don't want to give Haku the Terminus due to the innate %boss you can scroll a temporary scarlet or empress and give it to Haku until you can afford a better one.
Haku's buff adds %matt to your %matt pool (including potentials and buffs) equal to 50% of that fan's matt, assuming the relevant 4th job skill is maxed (Haku Perfected). In other words, a 100-matt fan would give you a raw 50% matt added directly to other sources of %matt. This is why the best fan for any Kanna's Haku is generally a SweetH2O fan if not Terminus.

His fan does affect your character. If you're looking at clean range, the potentials on his fan will affect your range (%m.att and %int are best). The bulk of the increase however comes from Haku's Blessing, which depends upon the m.att of haku's fan. If you don't see a difference with that, well Idk what to tell you. I gain over 1m range from that buff by itself.

Well, the fan Haku uses only helps increase your range when Haku's Blessing (buff) is in effect. The amount of m. att the buff gives is dependent on how much m. att is on the fan that Haku is holding when he casts the buff.

So hypothetically, if you only had one godly fan for some reason you could give the fan to Haku, let him cast the buff, take it back, use the fan for like 20 seconds, and repeat. No, actually, wait. Don't do that.

Anyway, to test my "theory" out, you can first check your range unbuffed, then let Haku buff you while holding a fan, and then check your range again. Then swap Haku's fan for something else, and wait for him to recast the buff, and then check your range again.

I think hes wearing a timeless fan right now but even when i unequipt it my range stays the same, should i buy him an empress too xD?

Of course it matters! What kind of fan is haku wearing? You have to equip him with a high magic attack fan so you can really see the range increase...
