Is Apple finished?
So I just saw this video today, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ciI5RkJLhhA, and this is pretty insane. Do you guys think that Apple will have anything on Samsung after this?
If you think that the 18th biggest company in the world will be taken down by one measly innovation then you have vastly overestimated this technology. They might go down for the next fiscal year or so, but i don't doubt they have similar technology back in their R&D. I'm not an Apple fanboy, im just not stupid enough to believe this will "finish" Apple
I meant that what they could expand on with this technology
This could lead to a lot of possibilities
Definitely not. Apple could probably take that concept and incorporate it into their products. I have a feeling this is what apple is going to make int he future. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZkHpNnXLB0

So far it's corning's idea but i think apple is going to produce the products while corning supplies the parts.

My point was that Apple doesn't develop technology (there are some exceptions). The key difference between Samsung and Apple is that Samsung is both a component (ie. screen) manufacturer and a designer of consumer products. Apple sources its screens from Samsung, as do a lot of companies.
EDIT: The bottom line is, I wouldn't bet on it. You can count on Apple to do innovative things with new technology, but R&D is not what they specialise in.

Apple spends very little on R&D for raw hardware. They usually leave most technological innovations to third parties for the individual components. This is true for just about every company in the computers and IT industry, ranging from mobile phones to laptops.
I want to rip that.

That screen is already super thin. Throw that in with Apple's neediness for thin and light phones and they've got a phone that weighs .001 oz.
Apple might peak one more time before actually crashing since Steve Jobs probably had something ingenius planned
Apple isn't really known for innovation, just prettying-up existing hardware and selling it to braindeads.
Wait and see I suppose. Apple depends mainly on it's current user base, rather than future consumers.
