Any Sat takers?
Any Basilers taking the SAT this October?
Those who do, we have 6 days left~
How is the studying going?
For me, I'm getting 720 on Math and I need to get it to 750.
I'm so frustrated with myself because I understand all of the problems and can solve all of them.
Careless mistakes are getting me in the butt >.<

@tyuiop67890: I took two practice tests. Official practice tests, not some waste of money bullcrap. My brother didn't practice or take any classes or really study specifically for the SAT, and his score still increased from his PSAT score.
I'm not worried.
2280 on mine QQ
@kinghippo7:
Correction, that's pathetic.
got that 1760 on first try woo
What I'm saying is that the SAT is grade level and I'm above that.
Plus I did great on both PSATs, and better on the 2nd one.
The material taught in SAT is below what you're learning in high school,
But the way you must approach the problems is much more different than high school mathematics.
Take some practice tests before you dive into the real thing.

I know I'm kind of late but
SAT will be a totally different test from the ones you take in your school.
I recommend you to get many prep books and take those practice tests. That's the only way you can increase your score. ^^
Can juniors take the SAT? Cause my parents say to sign up for the PSAT again...
@RitoPls I hope it's not that absurd, cause I don't want to go to college with a bunch of bimbos and party losers, but my GPA is only 3.1 and I was kinda relying on test scores and perhaps my essay.
P.S. I'm in a math class two years ahead of the average level. So does that mean the SAT/ACT will be average level and be easy for me?
@RitoPls:
SAT does play a big role when you are applying for college. That doesn't mean SAT is all you need, though.
That 25th percentile were probably special cases. For example, (not to be racist) they were black, mexican, homeless, low-income etc. Or they could be extremely talented in music or something.
I am Asian so I have to have higher SAT scores (that 75th percentile) to compete with other people
Face it, numerical datas are easier to compare than whether you won an award in some kind of contest or your team came in 1st place in soccer or whatever.
@ExoBishops:
Because of those dam geniuses lol.
I usually finish the section in a little more than half the time, then I redo all my answers with a different method.
But overall, I'm not even sure I can make a 2000...
@ExoBishops: At least a 2300? Oh, is that why the 25th percentile of SAT scores at each Ivy is at or below 2120 (700+710+710)?
Thinking the SAT is a major part of admission to any university is just absurd. But what do I know? I'm just a college dropout.
Basil pls
@sparkshooter
*sigh* the curve is getting worse each year.
I'm jealous that you are guaranteed an 800
Read the question carefully and show your work.
I can't do it because I don't even understand the question.
Thank god I only have the PSAT for now.
I'm practically guaranteed to get an 800 in math. But I'm not sure if I can even reach a combined 1200 on the reading/writing portions.
yep
taking US history
studying and feeling the pressure
still can't get a 2250
Honestly, the difference between getting into an Ivy and not getting into an Ivy won't be 300 SAT points. If you're getting 700's across the board, relax.
300 points is sheet ton of points just you know.
2400-300=2100
To get into Ivy league schools, you need to score at least 2300. AT LEAST.
And by the way, I'm taking this for the CTY program not for college. I need to score 730 or above to be in the SET (Study of Exceptional Talents)
Honestly, the difference between getting into an Ivy and not getting into an Ivy won't be 300 SAT points. If you're getting 700's across the board, relax.
