Hmmmm... I just added a comment below yours in that thread and was able to edit it successfully.
It may be that Mr. Basil is still changing things behind the scenes, or it might be that some accounts are affected individually, or certain threads just got missed in a global update. Fortunately it appears to be working for most things.

Edit- it appears to be fixed now.

I've been having the exact same problem as well.
It's pretty annoying since I can very rarely ever make a post without feeling the need to edit it later in some way. >_<

@exumaii - weird.. I've never had that happen before. Maybe the message is just currently not appearing..?

@strenling: That has happened to be before, but in this case, I didn't get the message. It's just like I never even tried to edit the post.

It's done that to me, too. Then it tells me something along the lines of "You can't post this, there's already another post like it, blah blah blah originality"
