Dojo classes

Been starting to realize that melee just cant keep up with ranged classes in the dojo.
Any melee dojo'ers without a good ranged attack *cough kaiser cough* have any tips on how to speed things up...or if i want to compete am i out of luck as a melee
Any feedback would be wonderful. Thanks!
I get what you mean, but considering maplestory and character control in general have such a small skill cap (its easy to get good. the game is stupidly easy) it turns out to be nothing more than a money based game. I put that there because I know theres some "special" mentally challenged people around who blew a few hundred usd in the game and still dont even know how to play their characters
I guess maybe it's really easy for Dojo, but for bosses like Chaos Vellum and Hard Magnus, it's a little more challenging, and if you don't know how to play your class, you're basically screwed for those bosses
If #1 was true, then how would skills/mechanics apply at all in #2? I mean yes, you need to spend money to be able to hit high, but a lot of your time in dojo comes from utilizing your mechanics and not just how much money you've spent on the game.
If a DB can complain about being unable to keep up at dojo, does that mean a Hero like me gets to complain more?

As much as I can optimize my dojo runs, I get beaten by like everyone except...say, Arans and Evans.

@itoldyounoob: What I'm saying is if you only hit cap and had no mechanics, you wouldn't really be anywhere near getting a better time than those who say, barely hit cap but have a good grasp of their mechanics. And hitting cap now is basically just putting a bunch of money in, but in order to get a good dojo time, aside from hitting cap, mechanics play a very large factor in getting a good time.

An example would be that there's a guy in our server who's the number 2 Shade of GMS by the ign of Detest who recently sold his account for a very large amount of USD. He has like 27%+ STR on pretty much all of his equips with a great %Boss/Att/PDR, etc. etc. However, the guy who bought the account doesn't know how to play his account well and although he hits cap, gets a dojo time of like.. 6 minutes, maybe occasionally sub 6, but nowhere near 5:00. On the other hand, I don't cap on all my lines, usually only with Heroic Memories and my shade hyper, and I've gotten a 5:08 time before, while averaging around 5:10-5:20. So there's proof right there that he doesn't know how to play the class but still has a ton of funding, therefore getting him a pretty bad time.

You kind of answered yourself. No matter how good your mechanics are, a cappers gonna have advantage over a non capper. It still is kind of a "I spent more money than you" battle until you cap.
OT: As a paladin, Positions in the middle / right pillers make it easy to compete with ranged classes. Just stand on your portal and kill it. For the ones towards the first spawn point ( far left ) I usually stand exactly where it takes 1 flash jump to get in and hope the portal doesnt delay on me. It slows my time by a second if I get the first spawn point, but I make do. Spawn points makes a huge difference in my time. I can go from 5:4x to 6:0x on different days. Spawn points and the stupid god damn door that keeps telling me its not open yet
1) hit hard. applies to everyone really. dojo is pretty much an I-spent-more-money-than-you challenge
2) know your class properly, delays, hit boxes. be optimal about it. scrub-like control = scrub-like results
3) live close to LA or Cali(?). people who live the closest to nexon's servers get the least server delay

thats all you need to do well in dojo
LOL step 3. Move your entire living situation to get a better dojo time f3

Erm, as a Kaiser you should just wing beat and giga them, if the chain move pulls them then use that wile standing on portal, if they far then use rush skill + wing beat + giga? o.o

As a dual blade I always had good times, same as a shadower, I can get top 10 in Windia sometimes o.o So it's not really Melee vs range, it's really all about control, knowing what skills to use and when to use them and of course where the boss spawns.
Ryudes sword and cap with wingbeat + gigas u should get around a sub 5
Don't need Ryudes sword to sub 5 on kaiser, just puts them in one of the best who can sub 5.
