the child ones are kinda sick. the adult ones are ok if they have equal male/female judges. people have competitions for everything else so why not beauty pageants.

None of the above. Both men and women are projected by the media that they should 'look' a certain way. Just because I only mentioned women in my post (since the thread [i]is[/i] regarding beauty pageants), doesn't mean I'm a feminist.
Secondly, I'm happy with the way I look-it's not hard to find a photo of me floating around here, I don't need your or anyone's approval to boost my ego, you must be new around here.
i don't mind adult beauty pageants because they have free will over what they choose to do with themselves, but children beauty pageants are really unnecessary because some parents make choices for them like forcing them to get body alterations at such a young age

on topic, beauty pageants is an industry that makes money and provides mindless entertainment for the masses. also it promotes women to take care of their appearance, which is actually important. a few jealous ugly girls can suck it up and deal with it.

i would be lying if i said i didn't find some of the contestants attractive but i think they need to scrap the interview/talent parts of the competition. Everyone knows the pageant is about their looks, why try to detract from that by exposing most of them for the idiots that we know they are. It's embarrassing for them and shameful for the contest hosts to put people in positions to fail.
Oh and, we know how you feel about them based on your poll options.
