Expected cost to StarForce tyrants to 5 stars

Assuming u use are for first star. Is it cheaper than 5star enhance +guardians assuming a 1:120 ratio for GS.

I was interested in 5 starring my tyrant shoes also and I wanted to know what was the optimal method to doing this so I "modelled" this using a bit of math (Markov chains).

By calculating the expected time to absorption (markov chain teminology), it turns out that it takes approximately 37 attempts to reach 5 stars from 1 star. This means it will take approximately 2.035b and that is NOT including the cost of AEEs for the first star. In my model, I assumed that you would not go less than 1 star, as I assumed you would immediately AEE it once it dropped to zero.

Expected value is 2.035b not including the costs of AEE of re-aeeing it to 1 star in the event it drops down to again. If anyone is interested, I can create a thread showing what I did.

If we consider the alternative, 5 star 30% no boom and guardians @ 1.8k nx each (on sale right now), the expected value with no booms @ 1.2b each is VERY similar. Based on probabilities only, it takes approximately 4 tries to get the 30% no boom to pass. At the current nx rate (130), you get ~2.13b. Of course, you can grind it out in star world or dailies to get your RP.

tldr; To get to 5 stars, they are almost identical in price. Based on numbers only, it is 2.035b (star force, not including AEEs, scania is 11m ea) vs 2.13b for 5 star and guardians (not including getting free guardians from reward shop).

EDIT: Just noticed you wanted a rate of 120, so it's 2.064. Again, very close.

Spent 4b so far & cape is still at 4 stars. It's all luck.

From what I remember of the probability charts, numerical estimates hover around 2-3 B to reach 5 stars. Whether 5 star+guard is cheaper depends on how expensive 5 star ees are in your world, in several worlds tradable 5 star ees don't even exist.

It is cheaper at a 1:120 rate, unless your luck is horribly bad. I usually go for 4 stars through starforce, then AEE+sup shielding.

unless you're me. after successfully using a 5-star AEE, I paid even more meso to lower it back down to 2 stars

Took over 2b for my cape.

It took me around 1.5bil for my cape. But my dam boots took so much mesos. I gave up and just went for a 5 star

Just depends how lucky you are. It's about 55mil per star so if you passed all 5 in one go that'd be about 275mil at the minimum. It just keeps going up from there </3.

I spent 600m trying to 5 star a belt and it ended up with none, then I 5 starred it with 5 aee's lmao. It's all luck
