@PraisedAura It was added to kms in the [url=http://orangemushroom.wordpress.com/2012/07/25/kms-ver-1-2-167-protector-of-the-dragons-kaiser/#more-3582]Kaiser Patch[/url]. He mentions it near the bottom after all of the kaiser stuff.
As far as what potential it can get I found a thread with a list that was translated from kms, but that website isn't allowed on basil. Just google Maplestory additional potential.

KMS got something that are like nebulites, not new potential line.
What if this potential is separate from the Tempest one....

Adds another line to your equipment. It even gives weapon attack bonuses to non weapon items, even have lines to break the cap.

That extra potential came out of nowhere. I think it's this:
"Oh yeah, a new type of potential has been added! It is called Additional Potential. On unidentified items, sometimes they will come with this Additional Potential. It is separate from regular potential, has its own ranks (Rare, Epic, Unique, Legendary), and its own cube. The stat above is 1 attack per level.
To get Additional Potential on your existing items, you will have to use Additional Potential Stamps which you can get from various events."
But that didn't get added to kms until kaiser's patch. Wonder what nexon is up to.

Same type. That means use the anvil on your staff with another staff. I just hope they transfer all the stats of the other weapon, including the attack speed.
