More proof that gms has no idea what theyre doing
In the pre-quests for krexel that I've been doing you have to fight montrecers, seems like a normal thing right? WRONG! If you don't 1 hit kill them, which is easy because teleport mastery, then they hit you back, all of their attacks stun too. So every time I get hit once I have to let myself die because nexon coded a mob that attacks at intervals quick enough to keep you perma-stunned...

Montrecers gave my Aran such a hard time
Except it's not. It's not challenging or difficult - it's frustrating.
In a game, monsters are supposed to challenge gamers, just like you said. If you try one tactic, and it doesn't work and you get hurt or you die - you try again using a different tactic. It challenges you think differently, to try new things outside of your normal mindset.
This isn't this kind of mob. Montrecers are a mob that stuns you indefinitely for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - it does nothing but force you to either waste all your pots (and eventually die) or quit the program. You can't get away from them from within the game no matter what you do. It's not challenging. You're not able to do anything. You couldn't have prevented the occurrence. It's just "Get stunned - die." The only way to stop this is to one-hit kill them, and not all classes can do that (I'm looking at Arans, especially </3 ). This creates unfairness, imbalance - and most of all, frustration. For classes like Aran who can't one hit kill, it's just "insta-lose-10%-xp". And don't tell me quitting the game is a good solution either. You shouldn't need to quit the game to get away. You should be able to fight back somehow - like through limiting the stun duration.
A good example of a mob with challenge is Hilla. Now, I haven't played Chaos Hilla, so I can't speak for her, but Normal Hilla is very well-designed. She has an insta-kill move - Damage Reflect. This is just like Montrecers - if they stun you, it guarantees your death. However, the difference with Hilla is that she has a casting time. Avoiding the DR is possible. You can prevent your death in advance. Of course, if you keep on attacking, you suffer the consequences - the tombstone. But the fact that you can avoid it and have ample time to do so makes Hilla a fair and challenging mob to fight. You make a mistake - you die. You play well - you live. It rewards "skill" (or reaction time in this case).
Montrecers don't do this, as stated before. They are not challenging, they are frustrating. Unpreventable death is not cool. The fact that Montrecers have the ability to do this is poor game design and probably an overlook by the developers. These things are bugs and need to be fixed.
TL : DR - Montrecers suck, they're not challenging, and need to be fixed.
I agree some bosses just take time to develop a strategy for. Some good examples are Hilla and Magnus. Until you get the hang of patterns ect you can't kill these effectively. Lets stick with Hilla as an example. When I kill her I know right away she will summon her minion to frag you to the sides of the map followed by a DR. I plan accordingly; Using final cut and dealing as much damage as I can before she summons and drags me left. Then I wait for DR which comes within 15 seconds, then use terms and asura killing her. For hard hilla this becomes a lot harder as she has more tools to kill you with but you get the point. Glad to you commented because i've been subconsciously doing this.
Ulu City has been out since, what, 2008? And it originated from MapleSEA, not GMS.

take touch damage, attack while invincible, problem solved
players' inability to kill these mobs only shows how spoon-fed they are when it comes to tactics
u should be able to avoid once then kill him
Use a familiar, problem solved.
For the people saying it is intended, can you tell my why they would purposely make a mob that can keep you stunned indefinitely? That's like having a mob that just 1 hit kills anyone
To be challenging
Last I check, Ulu City was never Global or Korean exclusive content. Blame the other servers for that. Personally, I'm glad those mobs are total pushovers, so I welcome it.
Just log out when you get stunned, no need to waste exp by killing yourself.

You mean the hamsters on keyboards?
This 'feature' was clearly intended to happen, they knew exactly what they were doing.
Did Nexon America ever know what they were doing?
Bodyguard A.
I died a lot because of that on my bishop. On my xenon it's different though because of that skill that can avoid attacks.
