I'll see if I can record a video without the platforms because I did try attacking it during the eye stage after they disappeared and I was in fact doing damage. I'll have to test if I'm still doing damage during the Gem stage since orbital's range was nerfed slightly.

Exciting! As a Mihile, now my only skill to finish this boss off is my lvl170 Hyper, with that delicious 30-cooldown! thanks Nexon!

I haven't played Maplestory in a few months but this advice should still be accurate.
Gollux is a relatively easy boss as long as you have the damage. Fighting him is very formulaic.
Hellux hands on the bottom row can appear in 4 locations. Section that off in 4's in your mind.

For the jaw stage, stand near the portal on the left side, out of range of the gollux breath area. To measure where you're standing, there should be a branch or something like that in the background. Stand to the left of that branch. Use Orbital flame until you see his eyes flash. Up-jump to avoid the hand. After hand attack is done, he cannot use his hand attack again for a while. Use blazing extinction.

For the eye stage, you don't even need the platforms. You can literally stand in the same location and up-jump to hit the eyes with orbital flame. It'll take ages, but it can be done. Hand attacks, up jump. His full map attack, up jump. Something goes wrong, you can walk out the portal, but don't just mindlessly walk out. Make sure to time your exit so that the mobs on the right don't walk to the middle.

There're other ways to do it too incorporating the blaze wizard's teleport skill or even some of your other attack skills from 3rd job.

Time your blazing extinctions since that has a big animation delay.

I haven't played maple or blaze wizards in months so if anything has changed since the last time I played, sorry but then my advice might not be useful anymore.

Gollux may not drop anymore if he's glitched, but I still do feel it's good practice to learn how to do him.
A lot of my friends that play Lumi/nightwalker/nightlord, easy classes in gollux really struggle to play other characters in gollux due to the fact that they never learned the mechanics. You may find it useful to still kill him like that and if you have a YouTube channel or something, it would be quite entertaining to watch someone kill gollux without the platform.

@cherrytigers Yea, but it's ridiculously difficult if you're used to using Blazing Extinction to clear out the mobs and aren't used to the reverse mechanism or the scream affecting you. Not impossible, but extremely annoying and with gollux drops glitched (I found out just now), no point in attempting it.

Blaze Wizards can do the eyes without the platforms anyways. There're so many different ways to do it on a blaze wizard so it's pretty easy.
Just learn the gollux mechanics. Going to the middle or standing on the bottom isn't that bad.

@wall and deal with the reverses and scream that auto kills if you're near the center? not to mention trying to mob control when your attack has the horizontal range of a telephone pole when casted upwards... sounds like a fun time!!11

You need to jump and jump.

Don't forget the constant D/cs in hellux for extra difficulty.

I'm not sure if you know, but on top of that glitch, Gollux's heart isn't dropping anything, either. And I mean, nothing, not even coins, so Hellux is pretty much pointless.
