When You See A Person You Think Is Attractive
Do you go up to them and start a conversation? Or just look at them from a distance and not say anything? (Let's say it's a social gathering)
Sorry if this is a weird thread, my sister says I'm a chicken because I've seen this guy at my church for 3 years now, and have never even said anything to him. I wouldn't even know his name if I hadn't overheard his brother say it...
We had this BBQ after church yesterday and he was probably about 1 or 2 feet away from me and we exchanged glances a few times but I just kept sitting in my seat, quietly playing games on my iPod.

Yeah, I usually talk to people I'm attracted to, especially at social gatherings. I mean, that's what they're there for. The only times I don't is when I'm tired or the situation in itself lends itself to awkwardness. But otherwise, always much more fun to talk to people you're attracted to.
@ OP:
By the way, you aren't a 3 (no wk intended). You're an average looking person or above, so it shouldn't be a problem. Just walk up to him, laugh at his jokes and then wait for him to make a move (srs). Idk, not the best at giving advice on how girls should act, haha.
Oh and conversations are easy. You don't need an excuse to talk to people.
"So what do you think of this BBQ?"
"-insert his response-"
"You know, I went to -insert BBQ or picnic you went to- It was really good!"
"-insert his own experiences-"
Blah blah blah. I'm so used to talking to people on whim it's not a big deal anymore.

That's why I thought it would be weird just to walk up to him and say something.
The conversation would probably go something like this:
Me: Hey, what's your name?
Him: My name is ----.
Me: Um...
-insert awkward silence-
Me: I have to go, bye.
TS is a cutie, I'd say the only thing you're lacking is an excuse to talk to him..lol...

Um, both I guess.
I was more curious about how Basilers would react if they were in the situation because my sister thought not saying anything was wrong.
It was supposed to be more like information on a hypothetical situation but I guess it kind of ended up just being my situation.
It can't be as bad as awkward penguin.. if you know a friend that knows him, you can ask the friend to introduce the two of you. You can smile at him.. and spill your drink on him and walk away.. guaranteed conversation starter... I should know. @_@

It depends on where I am, who I'm with, what I'm doing, etc.
Most of the time I'm not in a good situation just to randomly walk up and talk to someone and not seem weird.
But I wouldn't be afraid to talk to someone I find attractive if I felt the need to talk to them.

I probably do this every week at church. But sadly, when I pass him I sometimes start laughing/smiling uncontrollably. He probably thinks I'm a creepy stalker.
If the attractive person is in a social gathering like the BBQ you mention.. I'd chat with them for a while.
If it's like in passing say on the street, or something, I might smile towards them, and then go on my way.
