I recommend doing it on a 2exp/2drop event, take a spidey with you and MPE away. I got like 5 greeds one time, (and wasn't really trying to farm pendants) was only going for MPE pots.
I don't fund the mules that currently have access to MPE and I recently got my Phantom to 120. It usually takes me around 1 minute for the Boss Detected message to appear. What I'd recommend is doing MPE for nearly the full time until level 120 for the level 2 links and then make them a MPE pot mule. You'll have plenty of opportunities to get the Rhino to appear, especially if you do MPE on multiple mules/characters.
@Lecarde: Up to you. I've farmed hundreds of MPE pots and my mules still haven't reached the level limit yet, so it's not something you need to worry about too much.
@Undexme: Thanks. Also, is it worth it to keep a mule in the right level range by repeatedly killing it just to farm mpe pots? Does it make enough of a difference, not counting dojo, to justify it?
It drops from the rhino boss, which appears randomly in place of the normal map bosses. It takes 25-30 mob kills to spawn the boss; a message will pop up so you'll know when it is. The mobs generally aren't very difficult, since I do MPE on random link mules with only starforced normal equips. One suggestion that I have is to get a spider familiar, as it helps a lot with the drop rate from the bosses (I have several unused greed pendants and hundreds of green pots on my MPE mule).
Generally under 2 or 3 million HP. Never bothered checking. What I'd suggest is just getting your strongest char that can do it (I'd suggest Phantom if yours is still under 140 or a Cannoneer) and farming the tickets daily. Not only will you have better chances at finding the Rhino, but you'll be able to farm some MPE potions. Throw on a Lucky Winter and you're set for at least a couple of Rhinos.
@damian2o9: Hmmm ok. About how hard to kill are the mobs inside? I don't fund my link mules at all so their ranges are pretty low, but they are my only characters in the right level range for MPE.
Just kill around for a bit, a message should pop up that the boss is ready to spawn. Talk to the NPC and pray it's the Rhino. I'd pull out some Lucky Winters or a Spider Fam and you're set. It's not a guaranteed drop but primes are coming back.
