It isn't hard but it is easy to be disheartened after muting your team game after game knowing that they are flaming you.

No, not really. Chances of me playing with them again are pretty slim, and if I do play with them again I'd probably forget about my experience with them, which I think is a good thing. Gives them another "first impression" to me, which may have improved. If I recognize a name that I didn't like playing with, that might put me on tilt or lead to blaming them(which is bad).
