If the issue is that your average is too low, why would you go out of your way to fail a course?

I would suggest talking to the career counselors at your school and explaining them your situation.

People don't realize how much harder it is to get high marks in Canada. I went HAM to get 90 avg which is scoffed at by some of the tryhards in my school. Man I would suggest what you said with failing French and dropping that other course. You need to boost that avg up with food and nutrition lol.

Option 2 is what any adult would do. Those course they offer in summer school/adult school are easy, it pushed my 1.6 gpa to a 2.2!

I would have suggested apply to some other programs that are still open that literally take anyone i.e. Guelph or something and then transfer in 2nd/3rd year, but it is past the deadline that universities have to respond to applicants (some might still be open throughout the summer).

Your best option is to drop data and fail french.

So go to a college that's easier to get in to. Sorry bud, that's what happens. Or go with option 2, but at least have a backup college that you could get into.

Bloody hell, I would never have shared the exams I found with another student.. don't want to put others at risk, and increase my risk even more.. I would've helped my closest friends through different ways, without mentioning the exam(s) I had stolen.
Mmm.
Do nooot take option 2. Go for the first one, okay?
I'm from B.C. so I don't know what kind of rules there are in Ontario or anything. Can't help you out with more options. :T

Keep researching on easier ways to get through this without making the situation messier. It's pretty important what you do next.
Good luck.

Actually, your friend did a good thing overall. You learnt an important, valuable lesson through this experience.
Personally, if I really had to, I would pick the 1st option. However, it seems not fair, as you have to purposeky fail a course.
Maybe, try looking for a online school. I may be wrong, but it may not be too late for you to register in a course.
I wish you the best.
Also, one more thing you have to know is, even if you get 87% average, that won't guarantee you an acceptance as UofWaterloo is a famous school for engineering.

jesus christ, man. how nerdy do your friends have to be to get you to grab a cheat sheet for them and then they rat you out because they got scared? i'd have given them a reason to expel me for ratting me out like that
Just attend community college and transfer like everyone else?

why didnt you choose easier courses? You sound pretty dedicated and it's pretty damn easy to choose easy courses and get 90%+ in canada if you have even a little bit of will power.
mfw I'm trying my hardest and I've only gotten three 90s in high school.
