Mechanic

If Mechanics were redone, how would you want them to be?

Many players found Mechanics to be lacking as a class, some find it fun due to how challenging it is to play as one. Yet I feel that with these revamps and these recent classes and their playstyle, I find that Mechanics would rather be changed ALOT to at least not lag behind some of the other classes.

As the title says, what would you want a rebooted Mechanic to behave like? Most classes have at least 2 main styles of combat:

Battle Mage's Auras and Blows
Phantom's Copy Skills and Card Buffs
Paladin's Charge Attack and their Specialized Elemental Charge passive buff
Xenon's Mode Change and All Stat Bonus Buffs
Marksman's Rangefinder and their Mobbing Capabilities

Which style or two styles would you want Mechanics to fall into?

First and foremost, they REALLY need to alter things so that Mechanics use less keys. They have so many skills, but almost none of them macro at all! The placement items are the worst offender of this... teleporters, rock n shock, bots n tots, the accelerator, healing bot... not to mention that mechanics have few buffs, but none of them macro together (save for the toggle abilities).

First thing's first, I think I'd want to give mode switching abilities like Xenon and Beast Tamer to Mechanic - press a button and hit an arrow key to switch between seige, mech and tank modes and (like BT) have key settings individual for each. Sure, you might have to re-input the key settings for each mode, but whatever. Siege has no movement, but high damage output (mainly for bosses), Mech has high movement skills, but little single target damage (decent mobbing) and Tank mode has some mobility, but is more balanced in damage abilities.

Next, make the accelerator and heal device the same unit. If you're in the devices area of effect (similar to Purr Zone for BT), you gain free healing (albeit slow and gradual), while the entire area gains the accelerator's speed boost and defence debuff.

Finally, make the booster, overclock and dice skills all last the same time and make them macro-able for chrissakes!

EDIT: Oh, I forgot one... can't believe I didn't remember to say this...
Make Mechanics far less squishy. They're in GIANT ROBOTS! Why should they have such low defense?

There should be three modes: Prototype, Tank, and Aerial

[*]You should be able to walk/move with almost all skills (except Hammer and Tank Siege). If you hold down the skill key and press backwards, you'll automatically walk backwards without completely twisting around or attacking in the other direction, as a sort of strafe. Just like the WH Backpedal skill, just without having to toggle it.
[*]Dash should get reworked to being similar to the old Pirate Dash but waaaaay more powerful. Anyone remember the Jet Nozzle in Super Mario Sunshine that lets you blast forward with wicked speeds? It would work VERY similar to that but not as insane haha. (prototype mode only)You could also Dash and Backpedal Dash like I mentioned before with it if you hold the skill key down, doesn't work in Tank or Aerial mode though.
[*]Our 150 Hyper should be a buff that autosummons all of your robots to their last known point as soon as their cooldown is gone. That would be amazing
[*]The normal Crtl attack skill is now our Siege skill. Using that will automatically use Gatling Gun (Siege when gotten to 3rd Job), in all modes. For Prototype and Aerial modes, there's no delay or lock down and you're free to move. For Tank, you'll automatically get dropped and locked into Siege Mode until you stop attacking and then it will auto unlock you. Makes for a more streamlined gameplay and less keys to toggle.
[*]Various balances and streamline fixes for summons and skills

Prototype: This is the ground based, mobility mode that lets you move really fast. For large maps, this could be your main or #2 main mobbing mode aside from Aerial. Using Dash + Punch Launcher and the other skills/summons combined would turn you into a map-controlling monster! Also this would be a great bossing mode as you can use Siege Mode (replaces Gatling Gun in 3rd Job) and Dash + Siege at the same time making for some mobility and standing a chance in the newer bosses.

Tank: This is a more low mobility, stationary mode that focuses on Defense and Power. Dash works on it like it currently does so it isn't exactly "swift". Though you can now Laser and move at the same time which would be so much nicer than Jumping + Lasering. Siege is also still immobile and locks you into place, but the tradeoff is that you get TONS of defense (including %Hp reduction) and higher damage than the other modes in both Mobbing and 1v1. If you do not need the mobility or convenience then you should just stick with this mode as it will wreck everything better than the others would, but not so much as to make the other modes unappealing

Aeirial: Like an arcade game, this mode will be fun as hell cause you move fast (not as fast as Prototype) but can move in ALL directions. Also you will get tons of missiles and bombs that toggle and auto attack WHILE you attack, similar to Xenon's missile skill. The gameplay for Aerial Mode could feel almost acrade-like as it's a ton of missiles, bombs, bullets, and slugs EVERYWHERRREEEE! A freakin rainstorm of them while flying around would be awesommeeeee

^Perfect Mech class!

A robot system where there are many different combat modes (not just reg/ siege) would be interesting. If anything, it would be similar to a beast tamers different forms except maybe:

-survive mode: a jet/ aircraft for aerial movement and fast pace weaker attacks (best for evading lethal attacks at certain bosses)
-movement mode: a car/ motorcycle that is used for mobility. You can cast attacks when moving. Think almost like a wild hunter.
-siege mode: they can honestly leave this one the same but change it so that siege is focused on slower but powerful attacks and stance/ endurance. Think pally defense.

movement mode would be for mobbing/ getting around outside of boss battles; siege mode would be for tanking; survive mode would be for strategy oriented bosses. To keep them balanced given they will have a lot of utility, mechs won't offer any useful party skills and will be more of a damage oriented/ solo type of class.

They need to remove all of the pointless summons as well as the hideous "regular mode" </3

Would you think that Mechanics should have some passive skills that absorb damage and also protects against fixed percentage damage?

Easier to use/more intuitive skills would be a plus. Also we're in g-dang robots, you'd think we could take a couple hits. I would like tons more HP and Def.

Otherwise I love the aesthetic and the skills, they can just get clunky at times

we have so many extra skills that take up different keys and they should be easier to use and set up (needing to use both satellite AND satellite safety again when it goes down and needing to get out of hover AND seige mode to rebuff, etc is really inconvenient)
id like to have xenon's mode switch, or for our skills to get grouped together better to make them more flexible.
but otherwise, i like mechs how they are now

LIKE IRON MAN

But idk. In my opinion, I think that a mech suit instead of a gigantic machine would be better in this current state of MS where everyone has flash jump. Maybe more like engineers?
i just want the feel 3rd job had. Where you can basicly still be mobile and be a melee mech crushing any thing under an atomic hammer, or shooting off hand rockets. The theme was good. Then 4th job came around and it became slower, and then a lazer showed up T>T. And like 30 toggle on off skills are a nightmare. Just want that megaman Tron Bonne feel.
Would you perfer if Mechanic Modes were separate? In this I mean that each mode: Prototype, Missle Tank, and Siege can be switched instantly by pressing the corresponding Mode skill?

Also, do you feel that Mechanics should tick to beacons rather than wasting time summoning those damage-dealing bots?
